Job Description Summary The General Maintenance Worker performs general maintenance and repair of equipment and buildings requiring practical skill and knowledge (but not proficiency) in such trades as HVAC, painting, carpentry, plumbing, masonry, and electrical work. Work involves a variety of the following duties: replacing electrical ballast, lamps, receptacles, wires, switches, fixtures, and motors, using plaster or compound to patch minor holes and cracks in walls and ceilings, repairing or replacing sinks, water coolers, and toilets painting structures and equipment; repairing or replacing concrete floors, steps, and sidewalks, replacing damaged paneling and floor tiles, hanging doors and installing door locks, replacing broken window panes, and performing general maintenance on equipment and machinery. Essential Duties and Responsibilities (Including but not limited to) • Performs general maintenance tasks as directed by Supervisor on time and to specification, • Completes service orders with accurate information to include labor hours and materials used to complete the task., • Observes and practices safe working procedures, • Complies with Standing Operations Procedures, • Ensures timecard is accurately completed on a daily basis., • Participates in a variety of departmental and other meetings on a regular basis., • Performs other duties and special projects as assigned by management and/or supervisor.
