Our client is seeking a skilled HVAC Maintenance Mechanic II with a Massachusetts Refrigeration Technician License to support the installation, preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of commercial HVAC and mechanical plant systems. This role focuses on maintaining large-scale commercial equipment including boilers, chillers, rooftop units, and air handling systems to ensure reliable and efficient facility operations. Key Responsibilities of the HVAC Maintenance Mechanic II Boiler & Steam Systems • Service and troubleshoot commercial oil burners, • Maintain low-pressure commercial steam boilers (<150 bhp), • Perform maintenance and complex repairs on centrifugal chillers, • Service and repair large packaged rooftop units (10+ tons), • Maintain and repair various commercial mechanical plant systems, • Use standard and diagnostic tools including ladders and man lifts Schedule • Full-time (40 hours per week), • Typical hours: 7:00 AM – 4:00 PM, • Requires scheduled or unscheduled overtime, • Occasional weekend or off-hour rotational coverage, • On-call or emergency response as needed Required Qualifications of the HVAC Maintenance Mechanic II Licenses • Current Massachusetts Refrigeration Technician License (Required), • Valid Massachusetts Driver’s License, • Minimum 6 years of commercial or industrial HVAC/R experience, • Experience working with commercial plant equipment including boilers, chillers, and rooftop systems, • Experience with BAS monitoring and troubleshooting, • High School Diploma or equivalent, • Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills, • Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals, • Ability to use standard computer software for documentation Preferred Certifications • Massachusetts 1st Class Fireman’s License, • Pipefitter’s License, • NATE Certification Physical Requirements • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and climb for extended periods, • Work in environments with loud noise and temperature extremes Ideal Candidate A licensed HVAC professional with strong commercial mechanical experience, excellent troubleshooting skills, and a proactive, team-focused attitude.
