This is a wonderful opportunity to lead a team of teachers in engaging and educational environment. This is a full time opportunity. Full time hours are typically 35 to 37 hours/week. All employees are eligible for benefits at 30 hours/week. A typical day for an Assistant Director/Assistant Administrator will include: • Working alongside the center Director and teachers to create a safe, healthy, structured, and nurturing environment., • Building relationships with the children and families in the learning center., • Supervising and mentoring a team of teachers., • Selecting and hiring your team., • Communicating with families and teachers., • Conducting tours of the center and enrolling children in the program., • Overseeing curriculum, assessment, accreditation, and quality initiatives., • Working with state agencies and our Home Office to uphold licensing regulations., • Managing the center's budget with the support of our Home Office., • Participating in training programs and meetings., • Managing daily operations of the child care center. We have locations across Rhode Island. Requirements: We are willing to train the right person! Our ideal candidate will have experience working with children in a child care/early learning center. We are looking for someone who has the following skills: • A personal demeanor that is warm and friendly., • Verbal and written communication skills., • Reliable attendance and punctuality., • Organized and able to prioritize and multi-task., • Team-oriented and willing to work with others., • Management / leadership skills., • Administrative, finance, and/or business management experience, • Computer proficient. Education Requirements • High school diploma (or equivalent) or higher required., • Associate’s degree with college credits in a field relating to Education, Child Development, Human Services, Recreation or related field preferred., • Rhode Island Early Learning and Development Standards (RIELDS) certification preferred., • Knowledge of Teaching Strategies and/or Conscious Discipline preferred., • CPR/First Aid certification preferred. Physical Requirements • Able to engage in physical exercise with children (walking, running, crawling, bending, twisting)., • Visual and hearing acuity., • Able to lift up to 40 pounds. Other Qualifications • 21 years of age or older., • Able to read, write, speak and understand English, bilingual encouraged to apply., • Must pass national criminal background/fingerprints check., • Must pass Department of Children, Youth and Families (DCYF) Clearance Request (CPS).
