Job Description GENERAL DESCRIPTION: The Facilities Maintenance and Cleaner will be responsible for maintaining a clean and safe working environment within industrial facilities, as well as performing routine and preventative maintenance on equipment and machinery. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in both industrial cleaning and technical maintenance with the ability to work independently and as part of a team. RESPONSIBILITIES: • Perform cleaning tasks such as sweeping, mopping, dusting, and vacuuming floors, walls, and ceilings in industrial settings., • Clean and sanitize equipment, machinery, and workspaces according to established protocols and safety guidelines., • Dispose of waste materials in designated containers and ensure proper recycling procedures are followed., • Monitor and replenish cleaning supplies and report any shortages on equipment malfunctions to the supervisor., • Follow safety procedures and use protective gear, such as gloves and masks, when handling hazardous materials or operating heavy machinery., • Adhere to company policies and regulations regarding cleanliness, hygiene, and environmental compliance., • Collaborate with colleagues to maintain a clean and organized work environment., • Conduct regular inspections of facilities, equipment, and systems to identify maintenance needs and potential issues., • Perform preventive maintenance tasks, such as lubricating machinery, replacing parts, and inspecting electrical systems, to prevent breakdowns and ensure reliability., • Respond promptly to maintenance requests and troubleshoot equipment malfunctions to determine the root cause and implement appropriate solutions., • Repair or replace defective parts, components, or systems using hand tools, power tools, and precision instruments., • Conduct minor repairs of mechanical systems in accordance with safety and regulatory standards., • Keep accurate records of maintenance activities, including work orders, maintenance logs, and inventory of parts and supplies. REQUIREMENTS: • High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or vocational training in maintenance or related field preferred., • Knowledge of cleaning chemicals, equipment, and techniques., • Must have a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record, • Proven experience as a maintenance technician or similar role, preferably in a commercial or industrial setting., • Proficiency in troubleshooting equipment malfunctions and performing repairs using hand and power tools., • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail., • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and prioritize tasks effectively., • Good communication and interpersonal skills for interacting with colleagues, supervisors, and external contacts., • Physical stamina and dexterity to perform manual labor and work in various environmental conditions., • Flexibility to work non-standard hours or be on-call for emergency maintenance situations. PHYSICAL DEMANDS: • Lifting and carrying heavy objects weighing up to 50 pounds repeatedly throughout the day., • Maneuvering and operating hand and power tools, including wrenches, drills, saws, and other equipment, requiring manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination., • Climbing ladders or scissor lift to access equipment, facilities, or work areas., • Standing, walking, bending, stooping, kneeling, and crouching for extended periods while performing maintenance tasks., • Working in confined spaces or tight areas, such as crawl spaces or equipment enclosures, requiring agility and flexibility., • Pushing and pulling equipment, carts, or materials to transport them within the facility., • Using personal protective equipment (PPE) such as gloves, safety goggles, ear protection, and respiratory protection as necessary to ensure personal safety., • Exposure to various environmental conditions, including extreme temperatures, humidity, noise, and airborne particles, requiring tolerance and adaptability., • Operating machinery and equipment safely and efficiently, following proper procedures and safety guidelines to minimize the risk of injury.
