Job DescriptionThe Pesticide & Wildlife Technician (Seasonal) is a temporary, full-time position running April 1st through September 30th. The role is responsible for the safe, effective, and professional management of both pest and wildlife issues for residential and commercial clients. This role includes pesticide application, pest identification, wildlife assessment, exclusion work, humane handling procedures, customer communication, recordkeeping, and maintenance of equipment. Technicians conduct detailed inspections, provide same‑day estimates, and ensure regulatory compliance with all state, federal, and local guidelines. This is a temporary, seasonal, hands-on, field-based role that requires strong problem-solving skills, professionalism, and the ability to work independently. Key Responsibilities: Pest Control Duties • Conduct thorough interior and exterior inspections to locate pest activity, harborage sites, and entry points., • Apply pesticides in accordance with product labels, state regulations, and company standards., • Identify pest species accurately and recommend effective treatment plans., • Perform perimeter applications for insects such as ants, spiders, and other common structural pests., • Safely remove wasp, hornet, and bee nests., • Set and monitor rodent traps and perform mechanical control methods as needed., • Provide clients with same‑day written estimates for one-time treatments and continual maintenance., • Communicate treatment recommendations, remediation options, and maintenance plans to clients., • Complete all required service paperwork and pesticide application records accurately and on time.Wildlife Control Duties, • Conduct detailed wildlife assessments, including identifying animal activity and structural entry points., • Perform exclusion and preventative work to stop wildlife reentry., • Humanely capture, handle, and—as legally required—euthanize wildlife in strict accordance with state, federal, and local regulations and company-approved protocols., • Communicate clearly with clients regarding findings, solutions, and preventative strategies., • Provide same‑day written estimates, reports, and treatment recommendations.Customer Service & Communication, • Build and maintain strong client relationships through professional, clear and courteous communication., • Relay any customer service-related issues to the Field Operations Supervisor., • Educate customers on long-term pest and wildlife prevention techniques., • Schedule service appointments and ensure efficient route planning., • Respond to customer inquiries and service requests promptly.Operational & Safety Responsibilities, • Maintain company vehicle, tools, and PPE in clean and serviceable condition., • Follow all safety and regulatory procedures, and use required PPE at all times., • Participate in independent and group training sessions., • Join on-call rotation for after-hours emergencies., • Support Supervisors with field documentation, logistics, and special projects.Additional Duties, • Attend team meetings., • Perform other duties as assigned to support operational needs.Required Qualifications:, • High school diploma or GED., • Valid driver’s license with clean driving record., • (Preferred) 1–2 years of pest control or wildlife control experience., • (Preferred) Knowledge of pest identification, wildlife behavior, and exclusion techniques., • Must be authorized to work in the U.S., • NY state pesticide applicator license preferred; candidates without one must be able to obtain licensure within 90 days of employment (employer-paid training)., • Ability to lift 50+ lbs, climb ladders, work in attics/basements, and navigate various outdoor conditions., • Ability to stand, walk, bend, crawl, squat, reach, and perform physically demanding work., • Comfortable working at heights., • Basic proficiency with mobile devices and service software (Jobber experience a plus).Desired Traits, • Professional demeanor and excellent customer service skills., • Strong communicator—both orally and in writing., • Reliable, punctual, and responsible with a strong work ethic., • Detail‑oriented and highly organized., • Self‑motivated and capable of working independently., • Calm under pressure with strong field judgment., • Eager to learn, grow, and take initiative., • Committed to safety, compliance, and humane practices.Schedule, • Temporary, full-time, hourly position: April 1 – September 30, • Pay rate: $18–$22 per hour, based on experience, • Participates in after hours, on-call rotation, • Schedule varies based on contract requirements, seasonal demand, operational needs, and emergency response. This position does not extend beyond September 30.
