Job Description Broadview at Purchase College GENERAL SUMMARY: A unique opportunity exists to join a team in creating a vibrant senior learning community on the campus of Purchase College, State University of New York. The residents of this university-based retirement community will be able to enjoy the many amenities of the college including the renowned Neuberger Museum of Art, the Performing Arts Center, the academic and athletic facilities, and the park-like campus. Arrange furniture in a neat and orderly fashion. Cleans and disinfect bathtubs, sinks, toilets, urinals, clean and polish all mirrors and metal brass, aluminum metals, glass panels in doors, cleaning linens and making beds; dry mop or vacuum floors, other related duties as assigned. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: 1. Performs routine cleaning and related service work., 2. Demonstrates knowledge of Seven Basic Cleaning steps., 3. POSITION SUMMARY The Facilities Mechanic will be hands-on to do the day-to-day maintenance, repairs, overhauls, and have comprehensive mechanical aptitude. This role will need to regularly assist the facilities team in other capacities (carpentry, painting, plumbing, electrical work, HVAC and general building maintenance). Schedule: Tuesday - Saturday Salary Range: $85,000 - $95,000 Yearly Responsibilities and Duties: • Planning, organizing, delegating, and directing all aspect of the culinary services department, • Oversee the production of all meals while maintaining high quality, excellent service practices, and superior customer service, • Hiring, training, and mentoring all culinary services department associates, • Ensure all HACCP protocols are adhered to and document to ensure safe food handling, • Responsible for adhering to budgets, • Occasional weekend coverage as Manager on DutyQualifications Qualifications • Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in culinary arts, hospitality, nutrition, or business, • Minimum of two (2) years culinary services administration experience, preferably in senior living, • ServSafe certification required, • Must have training and experience in cost control, food management, and diet therapy, • While performing the duties of this job, the associate is often required to stand, walk, sit, use fine and gross motor skills, reach with hands and arms, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, talk, hear, and smell., • An individual in this position will be required to lift or carry weight in up to 50 lbs. The associate must use proper body mechanics. Job Description Position & Client Overview: A 300-bed hospital located in beautiful Westchester County in Upstate New York is looking for a histology technologist to test in their busy anatomic pathology laboratory on the day shift. Job Summary: Perform routine specimen preparation which involves cutting various tissue types and mounting them on glass slides for examination under the microscope by the pathologist. Nationally certified histotechnician experienced in receiving, processing, and preparing patient tissue specimens for microscopic examination and analysis by the pathologist. Able to perform complex histologic procedures, recognize deviations from expected results, and analyze and correct problems using scientific principles learned from NAACLS training and one years of experience. Skill Requirements: • Calibrate, operate, troubleshoot and maintain the equipment, • Dexterity and good hand-eye coordination are required to collect and prepare specimens, • Lab safety and infection prevention is of paramount importance Responsibilities include but not limited to: • Remove tissue from a preservative solution, remove water from the sample, and replace it with paraffin wax, • Embed sample in a larger block of wax to prepare it for slicing before mounting it on a microtome, • Slice or section the sample then stain with special dyes and mount on a slide for viewing with a microscope Education, Certification, & Experience: • Associate or Bachelor's Degree or 60 semester hours (90 quarter hours) from a regionally accredited college/university with a combination of 12 semester hours (18 quarter hours) of biology and chemistry, • HT/L(ASCP) certification, • Or on the job trained/non certified per the lab approval Must be legally authorized to work in the US without sponsorship.
