Position Summary The Sr. Estimator is responsible for preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for commercial and/or residential glass and glazing projects. This role requires strong attention to detail, the ability to interpret blueprints and specifications, and a solid understanding of materials, labor, and installation methods within the glass industry. Key Responsibilities • Review project plans, specifications, and bid documents to determine scope of work, • Perform detailed takeoffs for glass, framing systems, hardware, and related materials, • Prepare accurate cost estimates including labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor costs, • Solicit and evaluate vendor and subcontractor quotes, • Maintain relationships with suppliers and subcontractors, • Identify potential risks, discrepancies, and value engineering opportunities, • Submit bids and proposals within required deadlines, • Collaborate with project managers and field teams to ensure smooth project handoff, • Attend pre-bid meetings and site visits as needed, • Maintain organized records of estimates, bids, and project documentation Qualifications • Minimum of 4 - 5 years of estimating experience in the glass and glazing industry, • Strong knowledge of storefront systems, curtain wall, mirrors, shower enclosures, and specialty glass products, • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications, • Proficiency in estimating software and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook), • Strong mathematical and analytical skills, • Excellent communication and negotiation skills, • Ability to manage multiple bids and deadlines simultaneously, • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills Preferred Qualifications • Experience with software such as Bluebeam, AutoCAD, or similar, • Knowledge of industry standards and safety regulations, • Previous experience in commercial glazing projects Work Environment • Office-based role with occasional site visits, • Fast-paced environment with tight deadlines Compensation & Benefits • $80K - $120K + Commission, • Health, dental, and vision insurance, • Paid time off and holidays, • Opportunities for growth and advancement Physical Requirements • Ability to sit for extended periods, • Occasional travel to job sites may be required
