Job Description Courier Job Details: Mon-Fri Schedule Requirements: • The Courier must possess at a minimum of a high school diploma or GED., • Previous experience in transportation and customer service is preferred., • Must carry a valid driver’s license from the state of Texas and clean driving history. Responsibilities: • Inspect courier vehicle for scratches, inflated tires, etc. before starting courier route., • Responsible for picking up specimens from client offices, deliver reports and supplies., • Responsible for checking each daily client’s lockbox at least once a day, if accessible., • Responsible for picking up sharps’ container and infectious waste from client offices., • Responsible that all finalized reports are properly packaged for each stop on courier run and correctly delivered., • Responsible that all requested supplies are correctly distributed to clients., • Maintain accurate record keeping of specimens obtained from client offices and of delivered supplies., • Maintain a positive and constructive relationship with all clients including being mindful of clients’ needs reporting any complaints, comments, suggestions to the Courier Manager., • Maintain Turnaround time standards., • Maintain company vehicle including cleanness, fuel needs and maintenance., • Report any damage or need for service to the vehicle., • Follow vehicle accident/ breakdown protocols., • Maintain an acceptable driving record. Skills: • Strong customer service and interpersonal skills, • Demonstrated dependability and reliability, • Familiarity working with and adapting to technology, • Demonstrated ability to follow procedures closely, • Ability to determine efficient routing between multiple points, • Frequent standing and walking, • Extended periods of driving and sitting, ability to bend, twist, squat, climbing stairwells and in and out of vehicles, • Must be able lift and maneuver minimum of 0-20 lbs frequently; 21-50 lbs occasionally, • Drive a non-commercial vehicle throughout the shift on various roads and in varying weather conditions, • Follow lab regulatory requirements for transporting patient specimens, lab results, supplies, instruments (e.g. centrifuges), sharps, infectious wastes and chemical, • Must be cautious in handling packages and organized, as any disarray of labeling or sorting lab specimens and test results can have dire consequences for medical offices and their patients.Company DescriptionA Dallas based, pathologist-owned and directed medical practice that offers complete anatomic and clinical pathology services to Texas.A Dallas based, pathologist-owned and directed medical practice that offers complete anatomic and clinical pathology services to Texas.
