Job Description OVERVIEW: This position is at East High School and is 37.5 hours per week/11 months per year. The Chemical Dependency Prevention Counselor is responsible for providing school-based crisis intervention, prevention counseling (individual, family and group) and case management services to youth. The Counselor provides support for problem solving as well as information and referral services. S/he is responsible for conducting comprehensive assessments with the student that may identify any issues related to substance use/abuse, problem gambling and other risk factors that inhibit healthy youth development. OVERVIEW: The Center for Youth's multiple transitional living programs (TLP); Arnett House, Chrysalis House, New Beginning House, and the Devonshire Apartments, all provide independent living supports and services to homeless youth ages 16-24 7 days a week and all year round. The TLP Resident Assistant (RA) Float position provides on-site engagement and support that is strength-based and mutually respectful.
