Job DescriptionDescription: Multi-Unit | Multi-State Restaurant & Hospitality Organization Summary Objective: “At Fresquez Companies, we empower the lives of people by providing authentic, impactful and exceptional experiences (one team member and guest at a time.)” The Director of Training is a visionary leader responsible for creating, implementing, and maintaining a comprehensive training and development strategy across all Fresquez Companies brands, concepts, departments, and support functions. This individual will champion operational excellence by developing standardized training programs, systems, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) that ensure consistency, accountability, and exceptional guest experiences throughout the organization. The ideal candidate is a people focused, forward-thinking, highly organized professional with a passion for developing people and building scalable systems. They possess extensive food and beverage industry experience, exceptional leadership abilities, and a proven track record of creating training programs that drive employee engagement, operational performance, and long-term business success. This role serves as the Company's subject matter expert in operational training, leadership development, onboarding, compliance, and performance standards. The Director of Training will work closely with Operations, Human Resources, Culinary, Marketing, Purchasing, and Executive Leadership teams to unify training materials, establish best practices, and create clear pathways for employee growth and advancement. Success in this position requires the ability to influence across multiple stores, build strong relationships with leaders at all levels, identify operational opportunities, and develop training solutions that support the Company's mission, values, and strategic objectives. Requirements: ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: 1. Acts as a leadership role model while consistently exhibiting our company's Vision, Mission and Values., 2. Must be willing to travel regularly to all Company locations as needed., 3. Accomplishes restaurant objectives by training new staff members, communicating job expectations, shift scheduling, coaching, counselling, and correcting employees., 4. Develop Company Wide Standard Operating Procedures spanning over all departments of the company, 5. Assists the Operations Team with hiring and exit interviews, onboarding, monitoring safety and sanitation, people execution, end of month inventory practices, etc., 6. Must become the utmost authority on all aspects inside and out of the individual concepts within the Fresquez Umbrella. Product and recipe specs, safety and sanitation, pricing, etc., 7. Will assist Operations with leadership voids if any arise., 8. New Employee monitoring, appraising, and reviewing job contributions while enforcing policies and procedures., 9. Achieves restaurant operational objectives by contributing information and recommendations to strategic plans and reviews; preparing and complete action plans; implementing production, productivity, quality, and customer-service standards; resolving problems; completing inventory and audits; identifying trends; determining system improvements; implementing change., 10. Controls costs by understanding and coaching in R365, portion control and quantities of preparation; minimizing waste; ensuring high quality of preparation., 11. In conjunction with the Chef and General Managers, develop, implement and maintain product specification and recipe books, to ensure product consistency across all restaurant concepts., 12. Create and maintain a centralized training library, including SOPs, training manuals, instructional videos, recipe books, operational guides, and digital learning resources., 13. Obtains SERV Safe certification and becomes a proctor to ensure all Managers are Serv Safe Certified., 14. Develop certification programs and training pathways that provide employees with clear opportunities for career advancement., 15. Maintains safe, secure, and healthy environment by establishing, following, and enforcing sanitation standards and procedures., 16. Comply with legal regulations and maintain security of employees., 17. Develops, implements and maintains product specification and recipe books, to ensure product consistency across all restaurant concepts., 18. Assists department in carrying out various operational programs and procedures for all company employees., 19. Facilitate leadership workshops, manager meetings, and professional development programs to strengthen leadership effectiveness across the organization. Performs all duties in compliance with internal procedures, external regulations and brings compliance issues to upper management and Human Resources., 20. Must be willing to act as an Interim Operator if needed., 21. Support crisis management, operational recovery efforts, and interim leadership assignments when necessary to ensure continuity of operations., 22. Performs other related duties as requested. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS • 7+ years of progressive leadership experience within the restaurant, hospitality, food service, or multi-unit operations industry., • 3+ years of training, leadership development, or organizational development experience., • Demonstrated experience creating and implementing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), training programs, and operational systems., • Multi-unit restaurant or hospitality experience preferred., • ServSafe Manager Certification required., • Valid driver's license and ability to travel extensively between company locations. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS • Bachelor's Degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, Organizational Development, Education, Human Resources, or related field., • Experience managing training programs across multiple locations and brands., • Experience with Learning Management Systems (LMS) and digital training platforms., • Proven success in developing leaders and building internal talent pipelines., • Strong project management and change management experience. Physical or Environmental Demands: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. This position requires constant standing. Must be able to lift up to 50lbs. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to high. Position Type and Expected Hours of Work: This is an exempt-level position. Scheduled hours vary by restaurant needs, including necessary adjustments made during high and low seasonal changes. Typical days and hours of work for this position are Monday-Sunday (varying shifts). Other days/hours and holidays required as needed or assigned. Work Authorization/Security Clearance: 1. Satisfactory completion of a pre-employment drug screening., 2. Satisfactory completion of a criminal background check. Language Ability: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business rules and technical procedures. Ability to clearly and effectively communicate information and respond to questions from management and team members. Other (Secondary) Responsibilities: Assist with other restaurant functions including other assigned duties as needed. This may include prep-cook, cook, dish-washing, maintenance, bar-tending, serving, and cleanliness of equipment and facility. Must be able to fulfill all roles within the restaurant(s) as necessary.
