Job Description Facilities Custodian DETAILED JOB DESCRIPTION Church: Broadway Church of Christ – Lubbock, TX | Office Hours 9:00am - 5:00pm M-Th; 8-12 Sun. Salary Range: $45,000 + 5% Retirement, Social Security, Long-Term Disability, and a $35 Cell Phone Allotment The Broadway Church of Christ is seeking to hire a full-time Facilities Custodian. We strive to remove barriers and build bridges between people and God, people and one another, and the Church and our neighbors. A clean, welcoming, well-prepared building reduces distractions and shows people matter. About Broadway Church of Christ For more than 135 years, Broadway Church of Christ has believed that the church should make a difference people can actually see and experience. At the heart of Broadway is a conviction: God is restoring the world through Jesus, and He has invited us to participate. We want to be the kind of church where that restoring love becomes visible in the lives of people, in our city, and around the world. That conviction has shaped generations of ministry in Lubbock. Broadway helped establish the Children’s Home of Lubbock, Lubbock Christian University, Open Door, Carpenter’s Kitchen, and what is now Atlas Campus Fellowship, one of the earliest campus ministries in this part of the country. Today, that same spirit continues through ministries that provide meals, clothing, hygiene resources, prescription assistance, supervised family visits, preschool education, and spiritual communities for children, teenagers, college students, young adults, families, single mothers, and people with special needs. Our impact has never stopped at the borders of Lubbock. Broadway was among the first churches to send missionaries into Germany following World War II and has continued participating in mission efforts around the world. Throughout our history, Broadway has also been willing to grow. In 2019, the congregation took a significant step toward greater participation of women in leadership, reflecting our desire to recognize and unleash the gifts God has placed throughout the church. We are not interested in simply maintaining an institution. We want to remove barriers and build bridges between people and God, people and one another, and the Church and our neighbors. We pursue God, build community, unleash compassion, and share Jesus because we believe the local church can be one of the most powerful forces for restoration in a community. We are looking for people who believe that too. People who see ministry as more than a job. People who care deeply about others, who are willing to build something that matters, and who want to use their gifts to help make God’s restoring love visible. If that kind of work gives you energy, you may find a home at Broadway.
