Job Description Johnson Service Group, an award-winning staffing company, is looking for an Aerospace Buyer with 7-10 years’ experience. The Buyer will be responsible for ensuring work quality, compliance with company policies, and driving cost competitiveness. This is for a Temp-Direct Job in Chatsworth, CA. Pay Rate: $43.26 HR Must provide expert negotiation, oversight of Buyer and Senior Aerospace Buyer work for compliance and accuracy, and serves as an escalation point for complex supplier issues. The Buyer manages a focused commodity portfolio while contributing to Purchasing strategies through advanced reporting, analysis, and supplier engagement. Essential Responsibilities/Duties: In the performance of their respective tasks and duties all employees are expected to conform to the following: Purchasing Oversight and Compliance -Review and validate Buyer and Senior Buyer purchase orders for compliance with approval limits, accuracy, and policy adherence. -Provide feedback and corrective guidance to ensure consistent application of Purchasing procedures and standards. -Act as a point of escalation for supplier disputes, delivery failures, or pricing discrepancies. Commodity and Supplier Management -Manage a smaller but strategic portfolio of commodities to maintain active engagement in Purchasing operations. -Lead complex supplier negotiations, contract renewals, and pricing agreements to drive cost savings and value creation. -Support long-term supplier relationship strategies, performance evaluations, and corrective actions. Training, Mentorship, and Knowledge Sharing: -Coach and train Buyers and Senior Buyers on negotiation practices, compliance expectations, and system navigation. -Provide subject matter expertise to improve team effectiveness and cross-departmental collaboration. -Contribute to development of departmental SOPs and best practices. Data Analysis and Reporting: -Prepare, analyze, and present reports using SAP, Power BI, and Excel to support Purchasing strategies and cost analysis. -Develop metrics and dashboards to track supplier performance, pricing trends, and compliance adherence. -Identify opportunities for cost competitiveness and process improvement through data-driven insights. Cross-Departmental Collaboration: -Partner with Planning, Quality, Operations, and Sales teams to resolve escalations and ensure alignment with business priorities. -Represent Purchasing as a subject matter expert in cross-functional initiatives and supplier reviews. -Drive transparency and accountability by supporting communication of Purchasing results to leadership. -Perform quality work within deadlines with or without direct supervision. -Interact professionally with other employees, customers and suppliers. -Work effectively as a team contributor on all assignments. -Work independently while understanding the necessity for communicating and coordinating work efforts with other employees and organizations. -Follow company safety policies and procedures. -Performs additional duties as requested Minimum Qualifications : Education: High School Diploma Required. Experience: • Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in Purchasing, with at least 3 years in an analytical or strategic capacity., • Experience in aerospace, industrial distribution, or a regulated industry strongly preferred., • Purchasing Compliance and Oversight, • Advanced Negotiation and Escalation Management, • Supplier Performance and Relationship Management, • Expert Data Analysis and Reporting (Excel, SAP, Power BI), • Coaching, Mentorship, and Training Delivery, • Cross-functional Collaboration and Influence, • Process Improvement and Policy Alignment, • Attention to Detail and Accuracy in Execution Skills: • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, advanced formulas, and data analysis)., • Hands-on experience with ERP systems; SAP preferred, Oracle or other Tier-1 ERP accepted., • Proven track record of high-level negotiations and supplier relationship management., • Exceptional attention to detail with expert-level reporting and data validation skills., • Strong communication, presentation, and cross-functional collaboration abilities.
