About the Role: We are looking for an accomplished and seasoned Project Executive to provide strategic leadership and operational oversight across a portfolio of large-scale public works and DSA construction projects throughout San Diego County. As Project Executive, you will oversee multiple project teams, composed of Project Managers, Superintendents, Assistant Project Managers, and Engineers. You’ll also serve as a trusted advisor to owners, architects, and consultants, while driving continuous improvement across operations, process, and team performance. Job Duties: • You will provide executive oversight, direction, and support for multiple complex projects, ensuring safe, on-time, on-budget, and high-quality delivery., • You will communicate effectively with executive leadership and clients, providing consistent updates on project progress, challenges, and financials., • You will lead and develop project teams through mentorship, training, and regular performance evaluations., • You will lead the implementation and enforcement of standardized operational processes and procedures across all projects., • You will foster and model a culture of safety, serving as a mentor and active participant in ECG’s safety initiatives and committees., • You will oversee construction operations to ensure compliance with design, budget, schedule, and contract requirements., • You will partner with estimating, risk management, and leadership teams to evaluate project risks, insurance, bonding, and legal requirements., • You will review, negotiate, and manage claims, disputes, change orders, and contracts to protect company interests and ensure fair resolution., • You will collaborate with pre-construction efforts, including estimates, proposals, and presentations for new and negotiated work., • You will support business development efforts to strengthen relationships, identify opportunities, and secure future work., • You will monitor design deliverables and collaborate with clients and design teams to manage permitting, procurement, and construction sequencing., • You will attend and actively participate in design and coordination meetings, ensuring ECG’s project needs and requirements are communicated and resolved., • BSc/BA in Construction Management, Architecture, Engineering, Building Science or relevant field preferred, • Minimum 15 years of progressive construction experience, including 10+ years in field and leadership roles, • Expert knowledge of construction law, building codes, insurance, bonding, and contract management, • Familiarity with quality and health and safety standards, • Familiarity with construction / project management software, Procore preferred, • Good knowledge of Word, Excel, Project, Gmail and G Suite, CPM Scheduling software, • In-depth knowledge of construction materials, specifications, sequencing, and building methods, • Thorough understanding of safety and environmental principles, procedures, and legislation, • Experience managing subcontract agreements and purchase orders to mitigate risk and maximize opportunity, • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to lead presentations and client meetings, • Strong financial acumen, with experience in forecasting, budgeting, and profitability managementPersonal Strengths:, • Strategic thinker who can balance high-level oversight with hands-on leadership, • Committed to continuous improvement, innovation, and professional development, • Collaborative and relationship-driven, both internally and externally, • Physical ability to climb permanent and temporary stairs, passenger use of construction personnel hoists, ability to climb ladders and negotiate work areas under construction., • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus, • Performing this job requires use of hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls, sit, talk, hear, stand, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, • The employee regularly works on-site at the construction work site where the employee is exposed to moving mechanical parts; high precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; outside weather conditions and risk of electrical shock This is a general statement of required major duties and responsibilities performed on a regular and continuous basis.
