DIVISION LEADER ROLE & KEY TASKS As a Division Leader, you report to the Camp Director and Assistant Directors and serve as a key on-site leader for both campers and staff. You oversee a division of 3–4 camper groups (approximately 10–15 campers per group) and directly support 6–8 counselors. This role is highly active and hands-on, requiring you to be present throughout the camp day, support smooth transitions, and help ensure each group in your division is safe, organized, and engaged. You are responsible for supporting daily operations within your division, including camper supervision, group management, and real-time problem solving. You help address camper needs, manage behavior with empathy, and maintain a positive and structured environment where campers feel supported and confident. By staying visible and approachable, you play an important role in shaping the daily camper experience and reinforcing camp routines and expectations. You also serve as a primary coach and mentor to counselors in your division, providing guidance on group leadership, camper engagement, and communication strategies. ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY The Assistant Director of Residential Services is responsible for the overall administrative, operational, and regulatory oversight of assigned DHS-funded programs. This role ensures program excellence through strong leadership, fiscal accountability, regulatory compliance, staff development, and high-quality, person-centered services. Job Description The Mental Health Association is seeking a Crisis Outreach Supervisor for our new program, 988 Mobile Crisis Outreach Team, operating out of the Essex County location. The 988 Mobile Crisis Outreach Response program responds to adults (18 and above) in nonlife-threatening situations who have contacted the 988 Suicide and Crisis Lifeline. The Mobile Crisis Outreach Response program (MCORT) responds 24 hours a day, seven days a week, every day of the year, to nonlife-threatening mental health, substance use or suicidal crises in the community. MCORT works in coordination with the 988 Suicide and Crisis Lifeline crisis centers. (The 988 Suicide and Crisis Lifeline was formerly the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline.) MCORT is to be comprised of a two-person team in the field under supervision by a third professional from a centralized location. Shift time available: 11PM - 7AM Qualified applicants for the position of Crisis Outreach Supervisor will have, at minimum: • A Master’s Degree in a mental health related field from an accredited institution, a professional license (LSW, LAC) and two years of post-master’s full time equivalent professional experience in a psychiatric setting required., • A professional with experience in a crisis setting is preferred., • A valid NJ driver’s license and a good driving record., • The ability to provide effective crisis response and de-escalation as related to community mental health in the community.
