The Senior Project Manager provides expert leadership to project teams, drives financial performance, manages stakeholder relationships, and champions continuous improvement and innovation, consistently upholding the company’s core values. Responsibilities • Develop comprehensive project plans that clearly define scope, schedule, budget, and resource allocation for large and complex electrical construction projects., • Coordinate with clients, general contractors, subcontractors, suppliers, and internal teams to ensure project objectives are clearly defined, aligned, and achievable., • Monitor project progress against established schedules and budgets, identify potential risks and issues, and develop effective mitigation strategies to keep projects on track., • Ensure strict adherence to project specifications, electrical codes, regulations, and industry best practices throughout all phases of construction., • Provide expert leadership and direction to project teams, including field foremen and support staff, ensuring clear expectations and high-performance standards., • Delegate tasks effectively, monitor team performance, and provide ongoing mentorship and coaching to enhance team capabilities and professional growth., • Foster a collaborative work environment that encourages open communication, proactive problem-solving, and teamwork across all project stakeholders., • Conduct regular project and team meetings to review status, address challenges, clarify priorities, and provide strategic guidance., • Develop, manage, and monitor project budgets, including tracking expenses, forecasting costs, and managing change orders to maintain financial control., • Collaborate with finance teams to ensure accurate and timely invoicing, billing, payments, and financial reporting for each project., • Identify cost-saving opportunities and implement strategies to optimize project profitability without compromising quality or safety., • Conduct regular financial reviews to assess project performance, analyze variances, and implement corrective actions when needed., • Assist with collections efforts to ensure timely and accurate payments from clients, supporting overall cash flow and financial health., • Prepare and manage monthly profit projections and monthly billings for assigned projects., • Evaluate change order requests by assessing their impact on project scope, schedule, and cost, and negotiate fair terms with general contractors., • Oversee the creation, submission, documentation, and tracking of proposed and approved change orders to maintain profitability and contractual compliance., • Establish and maintain a comprehensive document control system, ensuring all plans, drawings, specifications, and change orders are accurate, complete, and up to date., • Coordinate review and approval of project documentation with relevant stakeholders and ensure efficient distribution and storage for easy retrieval., • Serve as the primary point of contact for project-related communications, ensuring stakeholders are informed of progress, risks, and key milestones., • Build and maintain positive, long-term relationships with clients, subcontractors, suppliers, and trade partners, ensuring a high level of satisfaction and trust., • Address and resolve stakeholder concerns promptly and professionally, maintaining a solutions-oriented approach., • Negotiate and manage contractual agreements with clients and subcontractors to support project success and protect company interests., • Stay current with industry trends, technologies, and best practices in electrical construction and apply this knowledge to improve project outcomes., • Drive innovation and continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to enhance processes, tools, and methodologies within the organization., • Provide expert advice and guidance on electrical construction methodologies and emerging technologies to internal teams and leadership., • Attend industry conferences, workshops, and training programs to expand professional knowledge and share relevant insights with the organization., • Lead and participate in continuous improvement initiatives and events, such as Just-Do-It (JDI), Rapid Improvement Events (RIE), and A3 problem-solving activities., • Maintain and update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for compliance practices and other associated functions, ensuring consistency and adherence across projects., • Demonstrate and represent the company’s core values in daily actions, interactions, and decision-making processes., • Integrate core values into work practices, ensuring they are reflected in the projects managed, solutions provided, and relationships maintained., • Proactively seek ways to strengthen the integration of core values within your role and across the broader enterprise., • Perform other job-related duties and functions as assigned to support organizational goals and project success. Essential Skills • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management, or a related field, or equivalent work experience., • 8+ years of experience in electrical project management, with a focus on large-scale and complex electrical construction projects., • Proven track record of successfully managing and delivering complex construction projects of varying size and complexity., • Extensive knowledge of project management principles, including scope definition, scheduling, budgeting, and resource allocation., • In-depth understanding of electrical construction methodologies, codes, regulations, and industry best practices., • Strong leadership skills with the ability to lead, inspire, and mentor project teams, including field foremen and support staff., • Strong verbal and written communication skills to interact effectively with clients, subcontractors, suppliers, and internal team members., • Proficiency in project management software and tools used to plan, track, and report on project performance., • Demonstrated ability to monitor project progress, identify risks, and develop effective mitigation strategies to ensure project success., • Proficiency in developing and monitoring project budgets, tracking expenses, forecasting costs, and managing change orders., • Strong understanding of financial management principles related to construction projects, including budget development, cost control, and profitability analysis., • Expertise in establishing and maintaining comprehensive document control systems to ensure accurate and efficient management of project documentation., • Skilled in negotiating and managing contractual agreements with clients and subcontractors to support successful project outcomes., • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines., • High attention to detail and meticulous approach to overseeing project documentation and compliance requirements., • Proactive approach to identifying potential risks and issues and resolving stakeholder concerns promptly and professionally., • Ability to establish and maintain positive, long-term relationships with clients and act as a trusted primary point of contact., • Commitment to continuous learning and professional development, including staying informed on industry trends, technologies, and best practices.
