Job Summary ABM is looking for an experienced and motivated Mechanical HVAC Project Manager to join our Cumming team. In this role, you’ll lead the planning, execution, and completion of commercial and industrial HVAC projects from start to finish. You’ll manage schedules, budgets, and teams of HVAC and controls technicians—ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and to the highest standards of quality. The ideal candidate is a strong communicator, a self-starter, and a strategic problem solver who thrives in a fast-paced environment. You’ll play a key role in forecasting project performance, managing resources, and maintaining strong client relationships that reflect ABM’s commitment to operational excellence and customer satisfaction. Key Responsibilities • Plan and forecast project scope, budgets, schedules, and resource needs to ensure successful delivery and profitability., • Lead HVAC and controls technicians, managing daily activities, setting priorities, and ensuring productivity and quality., • Oversee execution of mechanical HVAC projects—from design coordination through installation, commissioning, and closeout., • Manage financial performance, including budgeting, forecasting, cash flow, and cost control., • Act as primary client contact, providing updates, resolving challenges, and maintaining long-term relationships., • Coordinate manpower and materials, aligning internal and subcontractor resources with project milestones., • Enforce safety and quality standards, ensuring compliance with ABM policies and all applicable codes and regulations., • Anticipate and mitigate risks, resolving issues proactively to keep projects on track., • Maintain thorough documentation, including contracts, submittals, RFIs, and financial reports., • Experience:, • Minimum 5 years of project management experience required., • Experience within the HVAC or mechanical contracting industry strongly preferred., • Leadership:, • Proven ability to lead and manage HVAC and controls technicians, driving performance, accountability, and technical excellence., • Communication & Initiative:, • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across departments and build client trust., • Self-starter who works independently, prioritizes effectively, and follows through to deliver results with minimal supervision., • Financial & Forecasting Skills:, • Strong ability to forecast budgets, labor, and material needs while maintaining financial oversight throughout the project., • Technical Knowledge:, • Solid understanding of mechanical HVAC systems, installation, and commissioning., • Familiarity with building automation systems (BAS) preferred., • Software Proficiency:, • Proficient in Microsoft Project and Microsoft Excel for scheduling, forecasting, and financial tracking., • Certifications:, • PMP certification preferred., • OSHA 30 or equivalent safety credential a plus., • Education:, • May require occasional evening or weekend work to meet project deadlines., • Regular travel to project sites and client meetings within the region., • Must be able to lift or move equipment and materials up to 50 pounds.
