Job Description POSITION OVERVIEW: Reporting to the Senior Manager of Site-Based Programs, the WIE Program Specialist will provide support to BBBSLA's Women in Entertainment (WIE) Mentorship Program and related entertainment industry focused programs. The Specialist will maintain a caseload of site-based youth mentoring matches. The Specialist will (1) assist in the successful onboarding of student and volunteer participants in the program; (2) hold individual monthly support calls with students, volunteers and parents/guardians; (3) coordinate and organize transportation for students for their in-person match sessions; (4) attend WIE events and activities; and (5) support scholarship coordination and distribution to WIE alumnae. This is a part-time, hybrid work position with a mix of virtual and in-office work. ABOUT THE WIE MENTORSHIP PROGRAM In 2009, The Hollywood Reporter and Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Los Angeles joined forces to create a unique mentorship program for high school junior girls throughout Los Angeles County. Each year, the WIE Mentorship Program connects 18-20 female students from under-resourced communities with female entertainment executives through an annual mentorship and college & career readiness program. The goals of the program are to provide high quality mentorship opportunities for young female students during a critical phase in their young adulthood; promote the development of skills such as public speaking, confidence, and leadership; introduce students to the entertainment industry as a potential career path; promote diversity, equity and inclusion in the entertainment industry; and prepare students for college matriculation and success.
