OVERVIEW: Our client, one of the largest Energy companies in the US providing a wide range of Energy-related products and services to its customers, seeks an accomplished Legal Assistant. ** TITLE: Legal Assistant ** LOCATION: Onsite Role at 4 Irving Place, New York, NY 10003 ** DURATION: 6 months with possibility of extension *** WORK SCHEDULE: Monday–Friday, Hours: 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM EST Pay Rate: $30.00/hour JOB SUMMARY: The Legal Assistant provides administrative and operational support to the Law Department, including document preparation, file management, litigation support, and coordination of meetings and legal filings. This role requires strong attention to detail, confidentiality, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced legal environment. JOB DESCRIPTION: • Prepare and handle confidential and sensitive legal documents, ensuring strict confidentiality., • Create, maintain, and organize files, including scanning and managing documents in electronic databases and imaging systems., • Organize and prepare documentation for litigation, regulatory matters, and discovery requests., • Validate and ensure accuracy of documents processed through scanning systems., • Analyze and route incoming legal documents according to established protocols., • Perform and validate data entry for motions, court appearances, and legal records., • Assist with scheduling meetings using Outlook, Microsoft Teams, and internal scheduling systems., • Coordinate in-person and hybrid meetings, including guest management and conference room setup., • Perform electronic filing of pleadings in Supreme Court and other legal forums., • Interact with internal teams, clients, and external stakeholders professionally., • Conduct occasional legal or administrative research., • Provide additional legal and administrative support as assigned by senior management. JOB REQUIREMENTS: • Education: Bachelor’s degree in legal or Paralegal Studies with 2+ years of experience, OR Associate’s Degree in Legal or Paralegal Studies with 4+ years of experience, OR High School Diploma/GED with 6+ years of relevant experience., • Minimum 2+ years of experience as a Legal Assistant or Legal Secretary., • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)., • Ability to create charts, graphs, spreadsheets, and presentations., • Strong organizational, analytical, and multitasking skills., • Excellent written and verbal communication skills., • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information., • Strong time management and ability to meet deadlines., • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment., • Strong interpersonal and follow-up skills., • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and workload demands., • Preferred: Prior experience as a Legal Assistant or Legal Secretary in a corporate or law firm setting.
