We are seeking an experienced and motivated Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) to join a respected Long-Term Care and Skilled Nursing Facility in Queensbury, NY. The ADON serves as the operational engine of the nursing department, working closely with the Director of Nursing (DON) to oversee daily clinical operations and ensure the highest standards of resident care. This high-visibility leadership role bridges administration and bedside care, making it an ideal opportunity for a strong clinical leader ready to take the next step in their career. Key Responsibilities Clinical Supervision * Provide daily oversight and guidance to RNs, LPNs, and CNAs * Ensure clinical protocols are followed and care is delivered safely and efficiently Staff Development & Training * Lead onboarding and clinical orientation for new nursing staff * Conduct skills validations and provide ongoing in-service education Compliance & Survey Readiness * Support the Director of Nursing in maintaining continuous survey readiness * Perform chart audits, medication pass observations, and environmental rounds * Ensure compliance with CMS and New York State Department of Health regulations Program Leadership * Oversee key clinical initiatives such as Infection Control, Wound Care, or Restorative Nursing programs Clinical Triage & Communication * Serve as a resource for floor nurses on complex clinical issues * Ensure timely communication with physicians and families regarding changes in resident condition Performance Management * Assist with staff scheduling and performance evaluations * Support positive employee relations and help address and resolve staff concerns Candidate Requirements Licensure * Active, unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license in New York Experience * Minimum of 2–3 years of experience in a Long-Term Care (LTC) or Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF) setting * Prior supervisory or Charge Nurse experience required * Unit Manager experience preferred Knowledge & Skills * Working knowledge of Department of Health (DOH) and CMS regulations * Strong clinical assessment skills, particularly with high-acuity residents * Experience with Electronic Health Records (EHR); familiarity with PointClickCare or SigmaCare preferred What We Offer Leadership Development This role provides a strong pathway for nurses aspiring to become Directors of Nursing, with structured leadership support and mentorship opportunities.
