Job Description Position Summary: The Heavy Equipment Operator will be responsible for the successful planning, management, and completion of shed, garage, and home construction projects. This role involves running heavy equipment, ensuring that projects meet the required quality standards, timelines, and client expectations. Benefits: • 401(k), • 401(k) matching, • Health insurance, • Life insurance, • Paid time off, • Vision insurance Key Responsibilities: • Heavy Equipment Operation:, • Operate heavy equipment such as backhoes, excavators, graders, loaders., • Inspect, clean, and maintain equipment before and after use., • Load and unload equipment from trailers and transport vehicles., • Follow site plans, blueprints, and instructions from supervisors., • Ensure safety procedures are followed on-site at all times., • Identify and report equipment malfunctions or issues to maintenance staff., • Work collaboratively with site supervisors, engineers, and other crew members., • Monitor and control equipment to ensure efficient operation and productivity., • Perform basic manual labor when required to support the crew., • Project Planning & Coordination:, • Develop detailed project plans, including timelines, milestones, and resource allocation., • Coordinate with clients to understand their requirements and deliver solutions that meet their needs., • Obtain necessary permits and ensure compliance with local building codes and regulations., • Team Management:, • Lead and supervise a team of construction workers, subcontractors, and suppliers., • Ensure efficient communication among all project stakeholders., • Resolve any team conflicts and promote a collaborative work environment., • Budget & Resource Management:, • Prepare and manage project budgets, ensuring projects stay within financial constraints., • Order materials and manage inventory to avoid delays., • Track and approve project expenses, ensuring accurate cost reporting., • Quality Control & Safety:, • Monitor work to ensure it meets quality standards, specifications, and client expectations., • Ensure that all work is done in compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations., • Conduct regular site inspections and address issues promptly., • Client Liaison:, • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients throughout the project lifecycle., • Provide regular updates on project progress and address any client concerns., • Ensure client satisfaction with the final product and handle any post-project issues., • Problem Solving & Risk Management:, • Anticipate potential project issues and take proactive steps to mitigate risks., • Troubleshoot any problems that arise during construction and work with the team to resolve them quickly., • Project Documentation & Reporting:, • Maintain accurate records of project activities, progress, and changes., • Prepare and submit regular status reports to senior management., • Ensure all project documentation is completed accurately and in a timely manner. Qualifications: • Education:, • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field is preferred., • Relevant certifications (e.g., PMP, Construction Safety, etc.) are a plus., • Experience:, • At least 3-5 years of experience managing construction projects, preferably in shed/garage or residential building., • Proven experience in managing budgets, timelines, and resources., • Familiarity with local building codes, zoning laws, and permitting processes., • Skills:, • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills., • Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail., • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines., • Experience using Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, etc.)., • CDL License and heavy equipment experience., • Physical Requirements:, • Ability to work in an outdoor environment and visit construction sites., • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and stand for extended periods.
