Job Description Class C Delivery Driver - Direct Hire - San Diego Job Description The Class C Delivery Driver supports local deliveries, pickups, and DI tank exchanges throughout the San Diego area. This is a hands-on delivery and service role that involves operating company vehicles, transporting DI tanks and related equipment, loading and unloading materials, connecting equipment at customer locations, and assisting with yard and warehouse organization. The position requires comfort with physically demanding work, including maneuvering DI tanks that may weigh up to 325 pounds using a dolly across uneven terrain and through a variety of customer environments. Responsibilities • Safely complete scheduled deliveries and pickups to and from customers and vendors in the San Diego area., • Deliver and exchange DI tanks, ranging from 8-inch tanks through Flomax units, in accordance with route plans., • Follow assigned routes and schedules while completing deliveries in a timely and efficient manner., • Operate company vehicles and equipment, including trucks, forklifts, and dollies, in a safe and responsible manner., • Load, secure, transport, unload, and service DI tanks and related equipment to prevent damage and ensure safety., • Connect and disconnect DI equipment at customer locations as needed, following site-specific requirements., • Transport multiple DI tanks during a route while maintaining safe handling practices., • Maneuver, push, and pull DI tanks weighing up to 325 pounds using appropriate tools and techniques., • Use a dolly to transport tanks across uneven terrain, curbs, ramps, and various customer properties., • Move tanks through building interiors, hallways, freight elevators, marinas, boat docks, and other challenging delivery environments., • Complete deliveries at locations that may require transporting tanks over long distances or extended ramps., • Independently manage large-volume tank exchanges or deliveries when additional support is not available., • Perform thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure roadworthiness and safety compliance., • Maintain accurate travel logs, delivery records, inspection reports, and other required documentation., • Ensure delivery vehicles remain properly stocked with hoses, PVC parts, tools, and necessary service materials., • Identify and promptly report mechanical, equipment, vehicle, or safety concerns to the appropriate personnel., • Maintain an organized, clean, and fully stocked yard and warehouse to support efficient operations., • Provide professional and courteous customer service, addressing client questions or concerns calmly and effectively., • Follow all transportation laws, company safety procedures, and customer site requirements at all times., • Collaborate with operations, warehouse, customer service, and other departments to meet shared operational goals., • Assist with general warehouse, yard, and operational responsibilities when not actively completing deliveries. Essential Skills • Valid Class C driver’s license., • Clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) that meets company driving standards., • Proven driving skills with experience operating trucks and delivery vehicles., • Ability to perform physically demanding work, including maneuvering tanks up to 325 pounds with a dolly., • Experience with loading and unloading materials safely and efficiently., • Basic customer service skills with the ability to interact professionally with clients., • General labor skills applicable to warehouse, yard, and delivery operations., • Attention to detail in completing logs, delivery records, and inspection reports., • Commitment to following safety procedures, transportation regulations, and site requirements. Additional Skills & Qualifications • Experience operating forklifts and material handling equipment., • Familiarity with DI tanks, Flomax units, and related equipment is an advantage., • Ability to work independently and manage large-volume deliveries without direct supervision., • Strong problem-solving skills for navigating challenging delivery environments such as marinas, docks, and freight elevators., • Effective communication skills for coordinating with operations, warehouse, and customer service teams., • Organizational skills to maintain a clean, well-stocked vehicle, yard, and warehouse., • Reliability and punctuality in adhering to assigned routes and schedules. Work is typically performed during scheduled routes, with time split between driving, on-site service, and assisting in the yard and warehouse to keep equipment and materials organized and stocked. Attire is practical and suited to a hands-on, safety-focused delivery and warehouse environment. Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of San Diego, CA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $47840.00 - $52000.00/yr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
