Overview Our client, one of the largest Energy companies in US providing a wide range of Energy related products and services to its customers, seeks an accomplished Facilities Mechanical Engineer – Part Time Job Title: Facilities Mechanical Engineer (HVAC/Building Systems) – Part-Time | NYC Location: New York City (Manhattan), NY Duration: 6-Month Contract (Potential Extension Based on Performance) Pay Rate: $60–$70/hr W2 Schedule: Monday–Friday | 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM Expected Hours: Approximately 15–20 Hours Per Week (Hours may increase based on business needs; full-time hours are not currently anticipated) Target Start Date: 6/15/2026 Position Overview • We are seeking an experienced Part-Time Mechanical Engineer to support facility infrastructure, HVAC systems, mechanical systems evaluation, design review, documentation, and project planning activities for building and facility-related initiatives in New York City., • This role will focus on evaluating existing building systems, identifying required infrastructure upgrades, supporting construction and renovation activities, and ensuring facility mechanical systems can support operational growth and new equipment integration., • The position will support a team of 10+ professionals and is open due to a backfill for a retiring internal employee., • This opportunity is ideal for experienced Mechanical Engineers, Facilities Engineers, Project Engineers, or HVAC/Building Systems professionals seeking flexible part-time project support work. Key Responsibilities • Conduct site surveys and evaluate existing mechanical systems, including HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, and related building infrastructure systems., • Assess system capacity, performance, and suitability for expanded operational use., • Collaborate with facility management, architects, engineering teams, and project stakeholders to support integration of new occupants, machinery, and facility requirements., • Identify mechanical upgrades or modifications required to support growth, including ventilation, cooling, heating, and utility infrastructure demands., • Prepare technical engineering reports, recommendations, project timelines, cost estimates, and supporting documentation., • Ensure all proposed changes comply with engineering codes, building standards, safety regulations, and regulatory requirements., • Provide technical guidance and mechanical engineering support during construction, renovation, and infrastructure upgrade activities., • Review and approve mechanical design documents, engineering drawings, specifications, and related project deliverables., • Monitor, inspect, and verify completed work to ensure compliance with engineering requirements and quality standards., • Provide expert-level problem-solving support related to facility mechanical systems and infrastructure operations., • Maintain accurate engineering documentation and communicate project status, risks, and facility mechanical needs to stakeholders.
