Job Description The University seeks a dynamic and mission-driven BSW Program Director to provide academic leadership for its Bachelor of Social Work program. Grounded in the Sisters of Mercy values of justice, service, and compassion, the BSW Program Director is responsible for program administration, curriculum development, accreditation compliance, faculty leadership, student success, and community engagement. This is a full-time, tenure-track faculty position that includes teaching, scholarship, and service responsibilities consistent with university expectations. Essential Functions: Program Leadership & Administration • Provide overall leadership and direction for the BSW program, ensuring alignment with the University’s mission and Mercy values, • Oversee program planning, assessment, and continuous improvement, • Manage program budget, scheduling, and resource allocation, • Ensure ongoing compliance with Council on Social Work Education (CSWE) accreditation standards, • Lead accreditation self-study, reporting, and site visit preparation, • Lead curriculum development and revision to reflect current social work practice, ethical standards, and emerging issues, • Teach undergraduate social work courses across the curriculum, including foundation, policy, research, and advanced practice courses, • Supervise and mentor full-time and adjunct faculty, • Coordinate faculty assignments, evaluations, and professional development, • Foster collaborative governance and shared decision-making within the program Field Education & Community Engagement • Support and collaborate with the Field Education Director/Coordinator, • Strengthen partnerships with social service agencies and community organizations, • Support recruitment, retention, and advising of BSW students, • Promote student engagement, professional identity development, and licensure readiness, • Address student concerns in collaboration with appropriate university offices Scholarship & Service • Maintain an active agenda of scholarly activity consistent with tenure expectations, • Engage in service to the department, university, profession, and community Required Qualifications • Earned MSW from a CSWE-accredited program, • Doctorate in Social Work or related field (PhD or DSW)preferred, • Minimum of two years of post-MSW social work practice experience, • Minimum of two years experience in social work education, including teaching at the undergraduate level, • Prior experience as a program director, coordinator, or academic administrator, • Record of scholarship appropriate for tenure, • Experience with assessment, accreditation, and program development, • Commitment to social justice, diversity, equity, inclusion, and Mercy values Work Environment & Mission Commitment The University is a Catholic institution sponsored by the Sisters of Mercy, dedicated to educating students for lives of service, leadership, and ethical responsibility.
