Job DescriptionDescription: Summary: Under the guidance and direct supervision of the Youth Services Supervisor, the ASPIRA Mentoring Program Coordinator oversees the implementation and daily operations of the mentoring program while providing direct support to students identified as at risk due to factors such as poor school attendance, low socioeconomic status, engagement in high-risk behaviors, teenage pregnancy, homelessness, exposure to community violence, and family environments impacted by substance abuse and/or domestic violence. The coordinator supervises and supports Youth Mentors through ongoing coaching, training, and performance monitoring to ensure fidelity to the Aspira model, while also coordinating schedules and fostering a collaborative team environment. The Coordinator is also responsible for accurate data collection, documentation, and reporting, including tracking participant attendance, progress, and outcomes in alignment with program and funding requirements. This role ensures the delivery of high-quality services by maintaining a safe, structured, and supportive environment conducive to learning and youth development, while ensuring all program activities meet established performance objectives, organizational standards, and compliance expectations. Reasonable Accommodations may be made to enable qualified individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. • Reports to ASPIRA Mentoring and Youth Services., • Establishes and maintains good working relationships with staff, parents, and representatives from funding/accrediting agencies, school faculty, related community agencies and other programs within IBERO., • Assures compliance with the agency’s rules and regulations and performance standards., • Maintain a maximum caseload of up to 10 students for mentoring., • Maintain communication with the students’ parents and teachers throughout the year., • Assures compliance with the school’s rules and regulations., • Implement the ASPIRA Mentoring Model to Fidelity., • Must take the initiative to do everything possible to meet the performance objectives for each student., • Provide peer and social skills development strategies, behaviorally based incentives, achievement recognition and rule compliance structure- which leads to enhanced academic and behavioral outcomes for the student., • Prepares all required program reports in a timely fashion, • Maintain accurate student files., • Attends formal and informal meetings and training sessions outside the agency., • Maintains a detailed log of all activities on a daily basis via Impowr., • Planning, preparing, and delivering lessons during enrichment time., • Communication, consulting and co-operating with other members of the school staff to ensure the best interest of students., • Reviewing and evaluating students’ academic performance., • Ensuring the safe custody and optimum use of equipment used during lessons., • Encourage parent and community involvement, obtain information for parents when requested, promptly return phone calls and emails., • Any other duties as may be assigned by the ASPIRA Mentoring or Youth Services Supervisor. Authority: The employee exercises considerable initiative and makes decisions regarding assignments of tasks and monitoring activities. Must use sound judgment in reaching those decisions and in the day-to-day tasks with the students. Skills and Abilities: • Bachelor’s degree in counseling, human services or social work and 2 years’ experience in human services or a combination of education and experience., • Bilingual in English and Spanish, preferred., • Demonstrated knowledge of youth development, • Experience working with youth 13–21 years old., • Ability to speak positively and respectfully to the youth and their families., • Valid NYS driver’s license and access to own transportation, • Must have clearance through NYS Central Registry and good police records., • Good physical and mental health., • A combination of training and experience other than the specified, if judged to be adequate for the job, may be accepted by the President and CEO Physical Demands: The position does require occasional standing, squatting, lifting up to approximately 40 lbs.
