Job Description Position: Director, Technology PMO Reports to: Partner, EVP, Technology Department: Technology Location: Summit, NJ Position Type: In-Office Classification: Full-Time; Exempt (Salary) Summary / Job Objective: We are seeking a Director, Technology PMO to serve as a strategic partner to the CIO, driving governance, financial transparency, and portfolio visibility across our Wealth and Insurance platforms. This is a high-impact, insight-focused role designed for a leader who excels at bringing structure to complex, regulated environments. You will ensure our technology investments align with business priorities while maintaining a "ready-state" for regulatory and audit requirements. Primary Responsibilities: Portfolio Strategy & Planning · Decision Support: Prepare sequencing and prioritization recommendations for the CIO and senior leadership. · Strategic Portfolio Mapping: Balance technology investments using the "Run/Grow/Transform" paradigm to align spend with business goals. · Capacity Planning: Maintain high-level resource visibility to identify bottlenecks and validate quarterly plan feasibility. Financial Stewardship · Budget & Variance Management: Monitor portfolio spend vs. budget, providing early warnings on overages and performing CapEx/OpEx capitalization tracking. · SaaS & Vendor Oversight: Manage the delivery health of third-party integrators and track SaaS license renewals and usage metrics. Governance & Insights · Executive Reporting: Synthesize complex technical and financial datasets into actionable, executive-ready dashboards. · Risk & Mitigation: Proactively identify cross-platform dependencies and delivery risks, providing mitigation strategies for portfolio stability. · Process Optimization: "Right-size" SDLC and change management processes to ensure compliance (SOC 2/SEC) remains frictionless for engineering. Managerial Leadership & Oversight · Cross-Functional Influence: Cultivate a culture of compliance by guiding engineering and product teams to adopt SDLC standards through consultative coaching rather than rigid enforcement. · Strategic Liaison: Act as the primary bridge between Technology, Finance, and Business units to resolve conflicting priorities and align stakeholders on a unified portfolio roadmap. · Governance Stewardship: Design and "right-size" the project intake framework, ensuring governance acts as a strategic accelerator rather than a bureaucratic hurdle. · Regulatory Leadership: Serve as the lead liaison for internal and external audits (SOC 2, FINRA, SEC), ensuring organizational readiness and maintaining a "zero-finding" standard. · Performance Mentorship: Elevate the organization’s data maturity by providing expert feedback to Project Leads on risk documentation and financial accuracy. Qualifications: · Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Information Technology, Finance, or a related field (Required). · 6+ years of experience in technology PMO, portfolio management, or technology operations roles. · PMP, Agile or PMO-related certifications preferred but not required. · Experience in insurance, wealth management, broker-dealer, fintech, or other regulated environments strongly preferred. · Demonstrated experience navigating multi-vendor technology ecosystems, specifically involving Salesforce (CRM), SaaS platforms, and third-party System Integrators. · Working knowledge of SOC 1 / SOC 2 audit requirements and SOX IT General Controls (ITGCs). · High-level competency in Jira, Azure DevOps, or similar work management platforms. · Strong proficiency in portfolio and visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, Smartsheet, or Advanced Excel). · Understanding of the reporting and compliance expectations of bodies such as the SEC, FINRA, and NAIC. · Ability to distill complex technical data into concise, high-impact reporting for C-suite stakeholders. · Proficiency in managing portfolios through the Run / Grow / Transform paradigm. Essential Job Functions: · Navigate and understand complex regulatory frameworks (e.g., SOC 2, FINRA, SEC) and apply them to technology workflows. · Frequently present complex findings and data-driven insights in group settings to cross-functional stakeholders. · Maintain a stationary position (sitting or standing) for extended periods. · Operate computers and standard office equipment on a constant basis. · Perform repetitive motions involving wrists, hands, and fingers. · Assist clients and colleagues via telephone, email, and in-person. · Occasional evening or weekend work required based on project deadlines or business necessity. Travel Requirements: Approximately 10%-20% (Occasional overnight trips, roughly 2-4 days per month).
