Job DescriptionJob Summary: IAC is seeking a highly motivated, efficient, welcoming, and organized Box Office Associate to join the Front-of-House team for the Irish Arts Center. As the primary point of contact for our guests, our Front-of-House team plays a vital role in ensuring a warm, welcoming, enjoyable, and safe experience for all audiences at all IAC events. The ideal candidate will exhibit excellent interpersonal and customer service skills, attention to detail, perform well under pressure, and be a creative, on-their-feet problem solver, in addition to being comfortable with technology and ticketing systems, chiefly Tessitura and Square. Box Office Associates are also responsible for selling Artist Merchandise. This is a part-time position with variable hours depending upon programming and event operational needs. Box Office Associates work alongside the Box Office Manager and report to the Audience Services Manager. Must be willing to work nights, weekends and holidays as venue schedule requires. Part-time starting March 2026. Box Office shifts pay is $20.75/hour. Responsibilities/Essential Functions: • Assisting with immediate pre-show ticketing duties, including working with customers at the Box Office desk, collecting complete and accurate data from customers, ensuring quality data maintenance, distributing Will Call tickets, and troubleshooting any day-of-show issues., • Selling and processing all ticket sales in Tessitura, including single tickets, memberships, and exchanges., • Completing end-of-shift reporting duties, including but not limited to ticket sales, event attendance, and merchandise sales., • Maintaining the highest level of customer service by efficiently and effectively assisting guests with any questions or problems and trouble-shooting ticketing issues., • Assisting guests with merchandise-related questions and processing sales through the POS system (Square)., • Counting and restocking inventory., • Performing administrative duties, including customer service communications and data entry/cleanup., • Informing guests about the location of the restrooms, refreshments, and exits., • Receiving artists, guests, and students to the Irish Arts Center café and lobby., • Keeping track of building activity and foot traffic., • Staying up to date on our donor programs, benefits, promotions, and programming for all Irish Arts Center programming., • Welcoming visitors in a polite and friendly manner and directing them towards their destinations., • Previous box office experience in a performing arts venue especially preferred., • Retail or sales experience is preferred., • Candidate should have cash handling experience., • Fire Guard certification or a willingness to attend training a plus., • Experience with Ticketing and POS systems (Tessitura and Square highly preferred)., • Proficiency with Excel and other Microsoft Office applications preferred., • Effective verbal and written communication skills., • Ability to stay calm under pressure and create a positive atmosphere., • Typical BO shifts are 4 to 5 hours per event. Weekly schedule is dependent upon onsite programs and can range from 1-6 shifts., • This is an in-person position.
