About the Role ProMedix Health is a Remote Patient Monitoring (RPM) platform used daily by clinicians and patients managing chronic conditions. We are looking for a Technical Product Engineer who sits at the intersection of product ownership, UX engineering, front-end development, and engineering team leadership — someone who can define what we build, shape how it looks and behaves, get hands-on in the code to make it real, and lead the engineering team that ships it. This is not a pure developer role and it is not a pure product manager role. You will own the quality of the user experience end-to-end, run sprint ceremonies, and provide technical direction to a team of front-end and full-stack engineers. You will write and review front-end code, prototype interactions, and collaborate with backend engineers who maintain a Python/AWS Lambda API. You will be the person in the room who can speak fluently to both the clinician asking for a feature and the engineer implementing it. What You'll Work On Team & Sprint Leadership • Run the engineering sprint cycle — facilitate sprint planning, daily standups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives for a team of front-end and full-stack engineers, • Own the sprint backlog — break epics into sprint-ready stories, size work collaboratively with the team, and track delivery against commitments, • Act as the primary point of contact between engineering, clinical operations, and company leadership for all product and sprint statuses, • Identify and remove blockers that slow the team — whether technical, organizational, or unclear requirements, • Provide technical direction and day-to-day guidance to engineers on implementation approach, code quality, and UX standards — without formal HR or performance management responsibility Product Ownership • Define, prioritize, and own features for two user populations — clinical staff (web dashboard, Angular 19) and patients (mobile app, React Native/Expo, migrating from Ionic 5/Angular), • Write detailed user stories, acceptance criteria, and UX specifications grounded in actual clinical workflows (RPM, CCM, AWV, TCM, RTM programs), • Translate business, clinical, and compliance requirements into actionable technical specifications the engineering team can execute without ambiguity, • Conduct user research and usability reviews with care team staff and patients to validate product decisions before and after release UX Engineering • Own the design and consistency of the component library across the staff web dashboard (PrimeNG, Bootstrap 5, Angular 19) and the patient mobile app (React Native/Expo, migrating from Ionic 5), • Prototype new features and interaction patterns in code or in a design tool (Figma or equivalent), then hand off or implement production-ready components, • Define and enforce UX standards and resolve UX debt — inconsistent patterns, confusing workflows, accessibility gaps — across both platforms Front-End Development • Lead the migration of the patient mobile app from Ionic 5/Angular to React Native with Expo — working with engineers to architect the new app structure, establishing component and navigation patterns, and guiding engineers through the transition, • Write and review React Native screens covering clinical surveys, vital measurement flows, medication adherence tracking, consent documents, device management, and in-app messaging, • Write and review TypeScript/Angular components for the staff-facing web dashboard Cross-Functional Collaboration • Work with backend engineers who maintain a Python 3 / AWS Lambda / SQLAlchemy / PostgreSQL API — comfortable reading Lambda handlers, understanding data models, and participating in API design discussions, • Partner with the DevOps/infrastructure team on front-end deployments (CloudFront, Jenkins CI/CD, Angular and Expo/EAS build pipelines), • Coordinate with QA on unit tests and gauge end-to-end test coverage for features your team ships Required Skills Product Management • Demonstrated experience leading engineering sprints and owning delivery against a roadmap — as a tech lead, scrum master, or senior IC who ran ceremonies and held the team accountable, • Proven ability to write user stories and acceptance criteria that engineers can execute without follow-up clarification, • Strong written and verbal communication — able to give a clear status update to a non-technical stakeholder, • Ability to conduct usability research and translate findings into product decisions, • Familiarity with accessibility standards (WCAG 2.1 AA) and how to apply them at the component level Front-End Engineering • React Native with Expo — required; production experience with EAS builds, push notifications, and the managed or bare workflow, • TypeScript and Python — comfortable reading and writing typed code, • HTML/SCSS — semantic markup, Bootstrap grid, responsive design, component-level styling, • Component library experience General Technical • Experience using AI tools like Claude Code to support quick prototyping and feature testing/development, • Git-based workflow — branching, PRs, code review, • CI/CD awareness — how front-end and mobile builds are tested and deployed Nice to Haves • Healthcare or clinical workflow experience (RPM, CCM, EHR integrations, HIPAA-aware design), • Ionic Framework experience — relevant to understanding the existing mobile codebase during migration, • GraphQL client experience (Apollo Client or AWS Amplify/AppSync) — queries, mutations, subscriptions, • Experience building real-time UI with Twilio (video, messaging, SMS) or WebRTC, • Familiarity with Chart.js or similar libraries for clinical data visualization, • PDF generation workflows (Puppeteer, PDFKit) — the platform generates clinical PDF reports, • BDD or Gherkin-style test specification experience (Behave, Cucumber), • FHIR data model familiarity You'll Thrive Here If You • Can run a sprint planning session in the morning, write a UX spec before lunch, review a React Native PR in the afternoon, and give a clear status update to leadership at the end of the day, • Have led engineering teams as a tech lead or scrum master and can hold a team accountable to commitments without relying on formal authority, • Have strong opinions about UX patterns but back them with data and are willing to test them against real users, • Are comfortable in a codebase you did not build — reading unfamiliar Angular components, React Native screens, and Python handlers without getting lost, • Care about the people using this product — clinicians managing hundreds of patients and patients managing their own chronic conditions at home Work Location This position is 100% on-site at our office in Santa Ana, CA.
