Job Description Pharmacist- Contract to Hire Pay Rate: $56–$74 per hour Schedule: Rotating schedule – 2 weeks 8:00am–4:30pm, rotating with 2 weeks 4:30pm–1:00am Weekly Pay Position Overview The Pharmacist is responsible for supporting pharmacy management's goals and objectives within the dispensing pharmacy. This role provides comprehensive, accurate drug screening, information, processing, and dispensing services across various drug distribution systems. Strong attention to detail, leadership ability, and clinical accuracy are essential to ensure medications reach patients safely, efficiently, and in compliance with all regulations. Essential Functions Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. * Oversee daily pharmacy operations, including workflow management, production quotas, and meeting deadlines. * Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations governing the practice of pharmacy. * Maintain adherence to DEA policies and procedures, as well as third-party payer contract requirements. * Supervise pharmacy production staff to ensure accurate order entry, proper workflow, pharmacy security, and adherence to delivery schedules. * Verify completeness and accuracy of new and refill prescriptions, including drug packaging and labeling. * Prepare and/or supervise the preparation of sterile IV medications and solutions. * Assist with ordering, receiving, handling, documenting, and storing controlled substances, including maintaining perpetual inventory for Schedule II medications. * Participate in scheduled on-call rotations, including evening, weekend, and holiday coverage as needed. * Ensure workflow dashboards are cleared daily. * Maintain compliance with HIPAA and all applicable government regulations. * Comply with departmental policies related to safety, attendance, and dress code. * Perform additional duties as assigned. Work Environment This position operates within a long-term care pharmacy setting. The role involves the use of standard office and pharmacy equipment, including computers, telephones, photocopiers, fax machines, and medication dispensing systems. A significant portion of work is performed in a long-term care environment where noise levels may vary and occasionally be loud.
