Job Description Job Title: Pharmacy Technician Job Description This role offers an opportunity to work in a high-volume, automated refill pharmacy environment where you will accurately and efficiently fill prescription requests under the supervision of a pharmacist. You will prepare, package, and distribute medications in a fast-paced production setting while maintaining a consistent workflow to meet daily production goals. The position requires strong attention to detail, the ability to perform repetitive tasks with accuracy, and the flexibility to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team. Responsibilities • Manually fill prescription vials with prescribed tablets and capsules by reading computer-generated screens, locating the correct merchandise on labeled shelves, verifying the size and strength, and using basic mathematical reasoning to count or calculate the appropriate number of units needed to fill prescriptions., • Replenish medications in automated dispensing cells to full capacity by opening large quantities of bottles and cases, using a handheld scanner to scan product barcodes, and entering expiration dates and lot information into the computer application while maintaining a high level of focus to avoid cross-contamination and performing quality assurance checks for expired or damaged products., • Complete weekly cycle counts as assigned by the inventory department, including auditing cell inventory and counting product at primary and secondary bin locations, and assist in researching and identifying root causes of inventory discrepancies as needed., • Prepare cold chain and specialty prescriptions by following special handling and packing requirements to ensure product integrity and patient safety., • Assist with packing and shipping prescriptions, following federal and state HIPAA regulations and pharmacy standard procedures to protect patient privacy and ensure safe and accurate delivery., • Demonstrate effective problem resolution skills by recognizing issues, addressing them promptly, and escalating concerns to management when appropriate., • Maintain continuous, consistent workflow to meet daily production goals while working efficiently in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
