Job Description Entry-Level Assembler - Aircraft Interior Job Description This role performs repetitive assembly operations to mass-produce commercial aircraft interior components, with a focus on premium class furniture and related structures. You work within the time constraints of the master production schedule, consistently meeting quality and delivery requirements set by customers while following detailed engineering documentation and established installation procedures. Responsibilities • Perform repetitive assembly operations to mass-produce commercial aircraft interior components, including premium class furniture and related interior structures., • Work within the time constraints of the master production schedule to meet customer requirements for quality and on-time delivery., • Read and interpret detailed blueprints and engineering drawings to understand specifications, dimensions, and assembly sequences., • Follow established installation procedures to ensure consistent and compliant assembly of components., • Mix and apply adhesives according to manufacturer specifications, ensuring proper coverage, curing, and bond strength., • Apply silicone sealant in accordance with requirements to achieve proper sealing and finish quality., • Place parts in the specified relationship to each other, ensuring correct alignment, orientation, and fit., • Verify unit dimensions and tolerances before installing inserts, rivets, blind nuts, blocks, angles, doublers, and fittings., • Bond, screw, rivet, or otherwise attach parts together using appropriate fasteners, adhesives, and tools., • Drill, countersink, and rivet metal or sheet metal parts as required by drawings and work instructions., • Install attachment fittings and related hardware as assigned, ensuring secure and accurate installation., • Prepare and organize tools, parts, and materials for use in the manufacturing area to support efficient workflow., • Requisition parts from the stockroom as needed, ensuring the correct components are available for each job., • Ensure work orders and traceability books are accurately maintained and completed throughout the manufacturing cycle., • Maintain safe and effective use of all machine and hand tools, following safety guidelines and best practices., • Report any defects, nonconformances, or issues to quality assurance and manufacturing engineers for review and resolution., • Promote cooperation and positive communication with co-workers to support a collaborative and productive team environment., • Pick up and remove scrap and waste materials from work areas to maintain a clean and organized workspace., • Clean work areas, machines, tools, and equipment regularly to support safety, quality, and efficiency., • Lift and move materials and components up to 40 pounds as needed to complete assembly tasks. Essential Skills • At least 1 year of assembly experience in a manufacturing or production environment., • Ability to read and interpret detailed blueprints and engineering drawings., • Experience following installation procedures and standardized work instructions., • Proficiency using hand tools and power tools in an assembly or mechanical setting., • Ability to mix and apply adhesives according to manufacturer specifications., • Ability to apply silicone sealant accurately and neatly per requirements., • Skill in placing parts in precise relationship to each other to meet dimensional and fit requirements., • Ability to verify unit dimensions and tolerances before installing inserts, rivets, blind nuts, blocks, angles, doublers, and fittings., • Experience bonding, screwing, riveting, or otherwise attaching parts together using appropriate tools and methods., • Ability to drill, countersink, and rivet metal or sheet metal parts safely and accurately., • Capability to install attachment fittings and related hardware as directed., • Strong organizational skills to prepare and stage tools, parts, and materials for production., • Ability to maintain accurate work orders and traceability documentation throughout the manufacturing process., • Commitment to safe and effective use of machine and hand tools and adherence to safety procedures., • Ability to identify and report defects or issues to quality assurance and manufacturing engineers., • Strong teamwork and communication skills to promote cooperation and positive interaction with co-workers., • Ability to maintain a clean and organized work area, including handling scrap and cleaning equipment., • Ability to lift up to 40 pounds safely as part of daily work activities. Additional Skills & Qualifications • Experience in a production environment manufacturing aircraft interiors or other precision assemblies., • Familiarity with commercial aircraft interior components such as galleys, closets, lavatories, floor panels, class dividers, and sidewalls., • Comfort working in a large-scale manufacturing setting with defined production schedules., • Attention to detail and a focus on quality, particularly in dimension verification and proper installation of hardware., • Reliability in following established procedures, documentation, and traceability requirements., • Willingness to support continuous improvement in safety, quality, and productivity. Work Environment You work in a very large, clean manufacturing environment dedicated to producing interior products for commercial aircraft, including galleys, closets, lavatories, floor panels, class dividers, and sidewalls. You regularly use hand tools and power tools to assemble metal and composite components, following structured production schedules. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Seal Beach, CA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $17.50 - $18.00/hr.
