Job DescriptionJob Title: Field Technician Job Description This role focuses on servicing and repairing industrial pumps and valves in both shop and field environments. You will use a variety of hand and power tools to disassemble, inspect, repair, and reassemble equipment, and you will support experienced technicians on-site at power plants once you complete training. Responsibilities • Service, repair, and maintain industrial valves and pumps in a shop and field setting., • Use basic hand and air tools, including impact wrenches, air grinders, drills, and torches, to perform mechanical tasks safely and efficiently., • Disassemble pumps and valves, inspect components, and perform mechanical repairs or replacements as needed., • Assist with mechanical work such as cleaning, preparing, and reassembling equipment under the guidance of senior technicians., • Travel to power plants and industrial sites with a lead technician to perform valve and pump assembly and service work in the field once trained., • Follow established procedures, safety protocols, and quality standards while working in shop and industrial environments., • Support installation, service, and maintenance activities as required, including physically demanding tasks and use of power and hand tools., • Remain flexible with work hours and respond to on-call assignments during weekends or outages as needed., • Maintain a clean and organized work area and properly handle tools, parts, and equipment.Essential Skills, • At least 2 years of experience using hand and power tools., • At least 2 years of experience performing physical labor in environments such as construction, industrial, or similar settings., • At least 1 year of mechanical work experience in areas such as automotive, service, or manufacturing., • Demonstrated mechanical aptitude and the ability to learn new mechanical tasks quickly., • Experience with basic hand and air tools, including impact wrenches, air grinders, drills, and torches., • Ability to perform installation and service tasks using power tools and hand tools., • Willingness and ability to travel for field assignments., • Comfort working in loud, dirty, and industrial environments such as power plants.Additional Skills & Qualifications, • Background in mechanical, construction, or related fields., • Experience in military, industrial service, or similar physically demanding roles., • Strong attention to detail when disassembling and reassembling mechanical components., • Ability to follow directions from lead technicians and work effectively as part of a team., • Willingness to pursue certifications related to valve and pump service.Why Work Here? Work Environment You work primarily in a valve shop environment and at industrial power plant sites in regions such as Kentucky, Ohio, and West Virginia. Field work takes place in loud, dirty, and industrial power plant environments, where you will work alongside a lead technician. You must be comfortable traveling for field assignments and working flexible hours. Typical schedules may include standard shifts such as 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., as well as 12-hour days during outages. Some weekend on-call work is required. Dress and personal protective equipment are appropriate for industrial shop and power plant settings, reflecting the physical and hands-on nature of the role. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Louisville, KY. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $22.00/hr.
