Job DescriptionJob Title: General Production Worker Job Description The General Production Worker supports manufacturing operations by assisting welders, operating forklifts, assembling components, and performing various production tasks such as unloading trucks, drawer assembly, powder coating, and painting. This role plays a key part in maintaining efficient production flow and ensuring products meet quality standards. Responsibilities • Support welders on the production floor by preparing materials, organizing parts, and assisting with workflow as needed., • Operate forklifts safely to move materials, components, and finished products throughout the facility., • Load and unload trucks, ensuring materials are handled carefully and placed in the correct locations., • Perform drawer assembly and other product assembly tasks according to work instructions and quality standards., • Assist with powder coating and painting processes as required, following safety and quality guidelines., • Operate production and general machinery as needed, adhering to all safety procedures., • Carry out general labor and production duties such as material handling, staging, and basic cleaning of work areas., • Follow established production schedules, work orders, and instructions to meet daily output goals., • Inspect work for accuracy and quality, reporting any defects or issues to supervisors., • Participate in a 30-minute interview and evaluation process with a floor supervisor to review skills and fit for the production environment.Essential Skills, • Experience with general production or manufacturing work., • Ability to perform general labor tasks, including lifting, moving, and handling materials., • Proficiency in assembly work, including accurate and efficient component and drawer assembly., • Forklift operation experience, including safely moving and staging materials., • Experience loading and unloading trucks in a production or warehouse setting., • Ability to operate basic production machinery and equipment., • Capability to follow written and verbal instructions and standard operating procedures., • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work., • Willingness to work collaboratively with welders and other production team members.Additional Skills & Qualifications, • Prior experience in a metal fabrication, coating, or similar industrial environment is beneficial., • Familiarity with powder coating or painting processes is an advantage., • Comfort working in a fast-paced production setting., • Ability to adapt to different tasks and learn new equipment or processes as needed.Why Work Here? The environment is active and fast-paced, requiring consistent attention to safety procedures and awareness of moving equipment and materials. Work hours and shifts follow typical production schedules and may vary based on operational needs. Appropriate work attire suitable for a shop or industrial setting is required, including any safety gear provided or mandated by the facility. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Louisville, KY. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $18.50 - $19.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
