Job Description Communications & Events Manager Reports To: Chief Executive Officer (CEO) The Communications & Events Manager is responsible for leading the Association’s marketing, communications, and event initiatives in support of member engagement, professional development, and community presence. This position manages the Association’s social media platforms, digital and print communications, and member messaging while also planning and executing high-quality events throughout the year. The ideal candidate is creative, highly organized, member-focused, and comfortable balancing strategic communications with hands-on event execution. This role works closely with staff, volunteer leaders, committees, vendors, and community partners to ensure consistent branding, strong engagement, and exceptional member experiences. Key Responsibilities Communications & Marketing • Develop and implement a comprehensive communications strategy aligned with the Association’s goals., • Manage all social media platforms (content creation, scheduling, engagement, analytics, and growth)., • Create and distribute email newsletters, member announcements, and event promotions., • Maintain and update website content and ensure brand consistency., • Draft press releases and coordinate media outreach as needed., • Develop marketing materials for programs, advocacy initiatives, education offerings, and membership campaigns., • Track communication metrics and provide performance reports to leadership. Event Planning & Execution • Plan, coordinate, and execute Association events including educational programs, networking events, membership meetings, special celebrations, and community outreach events., • Manage event logistics including venues, catering, sponsorship coordination, registration systems, audiovisual needs, and onsite execution., • Develop event marketing plans to maximize attendance and engagement., • Create event budgets and monitor expenses., • Coordinate volunteers and committee members for event support., • Oversee post-event evaluations and reporting. Member Engagement & Internal Communication • Serve as a key point of contact for member communication inquiries., • Support internal staff communication efforts and ensure consistent messaging across departments., • Assist leadership with communication to committees, brokers, and membership., • Promote member benefits, advocacy updates, education opportunities, and industry news., • Help strengthen member engagement and participation through innovative outreach strategies. Team Support & Organizational Collaboration • Provide cross-departmental support for association initiatives and special projects., • Assist the CEO and leadership team with presentations, reports, and communication materials., • Support sponsorship fulfillment and partner communications., • Maintain brand standards across all materials and channels., • Contribute ideas to enhance member experience and organizational growth. Qualifications Required: • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, Event Management, or related field (or equivalent experience)., • 3–5 years of experience in communications, marketing, or event planning., • Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills., • Experience managing social media platforms and analytics., • Excellent organizational and project management skills., • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines., • Experience working with a membership organization, nonprofit, or trade association., • Familiarity with the real estate industry or Realtor® associations., • Experience with CRM systems, email marketing platforms, and event registration software., • Basic graphic design skills (Canva or similar). Work Environment & Schedule This position generally works standard business hours, Monday through Friday. Evening and weekend hours are required to support Association events and activities. Local travel is required. The role requires occasional lifting of event materials (up to 25–30 pounds), prolonged periods of sitting or standing, and frequent use of a computer and mobile devices.
