Job Description Job Summary/Primary Functions: Log Still Distillery is seeking a driven, highly accountable Kentucky State Sales Manager to represent our full portfolio of bourbons, whiskeys, and gins throughout the state. We’re looking for someone who is sharp, proactive, and operates with true ownership — someone who takes initiative, solves problems independently, and carries themselves as a brand steward in every account. The primary responsibility of this role is to build, grow, and support our presence in both on- and off-premise accounts across Kentucky. This includes calling on key accounts, opening new business, driving distribution and velocity, and working closely with our distributor partners to plan, execute, and deliver against sales goals. The Kentucky State Sales Manager will be responsible for executing promotions, activations, and education across the market, ensuring our brands are presented with excellence. In addition to managing their own territory, the successful candidate will help guide, coach, and support local Log Still team members to ensure alignment with company goals and market strategy. Supervisory Responsibilities: • Assist with hiring, training, and mentoring Brand Ambassadors and at times other Sales Representatives, • Assist/mentors and serves as a resource for daily operations of the Brand Ambassadors and Sales Representatives, • Responsible for overseeing that key performance indicators are trended to include continuous adjustments to market plan based on performance, • Scheduling Brand Ambassadors, and reporting their payroll bi weekly., • Team Lead in offsite activations, handling bottle sales, staffing, set-up, and any other duties for the event. Major Job Responsibilities/Key Duties: • Aggressively pursues new on & off-premise distribution in the assigned region, • Participates in market events, ride-with, and general sales meetings to hold distributor partners accountable for the execution and achievement of the sales plan, • Trains/mentors local company sales team members, • Calls on key accounts to secure distribution, making timely presentations, and introducing new products and "limited release" bourbons, • Executes on and off-premise promotions and periodic special events, • Develops and maintains strong, positive relationships with account staff and distributor sales personnel, • Educates and trains accounts as well as distributors on Log Still products, and Log Still Distillery, • Travels to and utilizes the assets of the distillery to instill brand and product knowledge in the commercial partners, • Completes necessary administrative reporting and communications on a timely basis daily and weekly, • Maintains all sales goals and personal budgets outlined for the territory assigned., • Continuously maintains a strong sense of urgency to meet and exceed goals., • Seeks ongoing feedback from manager asking, “What coaching do you have for me?”, and “How can I improve my performance?”, • Continuously seeks feedback from all customers on performance/brand and improvement opportunities, • Seeks to continuously develop and improve own performance and performance of direct reports, • Completes late night and weekend account visits and event attendance as directed, • Stays informed of customer and consumer trends, • Maintains calendar of activities and promotions ensuring distributor and third-party agencies have successful communications, • Responsible for the state’s sales goals., • Sends mandatory Monday weekly recaps to the distributor’s brand manager, along with CC Log Still’s Chief Brand & Strategy Officer (recaps also posted in Basecamp, • Maintain and update a state calendar to include tastings, events, work with, and any distributor meetings., • Attend any GSM’s, or meetings with distributors (Include the Chief Brand Officer in all of these), • Monthly recap breakdown of sales from tastings, brand ambassador updates, & any other brand happenings., • Sets monthly distributor work-withs & ensures the approved brand programming is executed., • Works with the Brand Strategy Officer and Human Resources to recruit and train Brand Ambassadors in the state, schedules BAs throughout the state, receives recaps, processes BA payroll,, • Enters all account correspondence into VIP., • Works with Chain Development & other state managers on chain accounts., • Responsible for set up & execution of all state events., • A minimum of 4 tastings a month executed in the market., • All PowerPoints & promotional assets must be approved through Log Still Marketing, • Attend monthly SOP meetings to update on state sales and projections., • Ensure all tastings & work with’s are covered., • Maximize all market events, monitor all bottle sales, set up, and ensure a recap is submitted to Basecamp., • Monitor Distributor Inventory, • Responsible for approved POS inventory, • Utilizing state sales reps to help achieve sales goals and ensure they hit targeted accounts., • Other duties as periodically assigned by the Chief Brand and Sales Manager Skills / Experience Required: • Must be 21 years of age., • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to multitask with frequent interruptions., • Excellent verbal and written communication skills., • Prior experience in a sales position; prior alcoholic beverage sales experience, • Strong ties and established relationships in the beverage community in the assigned region, • Strong oral communication skills: ability to talk to others to convey information effectively; strong written communication skills, • Trade knowledge - Understanding the retail and on-premise buyer mindset, • Knowledge of, and passion for, Bourbon, Whiskey, and Spirits, • Effective presentation skills, • Excellent time management skills; ability to be proactive and take initiative., • Excellent organization and coordination skills- ability to manage priorities and routine functions effectively and efficiently., • Empathy- Being aware of others' reactions and understanding why they react as they do., • Teamwork – Ability to flex scope of responsibility and perform other functions as needed, regardless of job description, • Good time management, • Proficiency with personal computers / laptops and associated programs (Windows, Microsoft office suite of programs). Education Required: • Bachelor’s Degree: Minimum of Five (5) years’ work-related experience in distilled spirits/wine supplier or wholesaler industry. Special Working Conditions (e.g. Temperature Extremes, Lifting, Noise, Off-shifts) • Frequent travel, • Travel will include overnight travel, • Have access to a reliable car that is registered and insured, • Must have a valid, unrestricted driver's license, • Must be able to drive to and from accounts continuously, • Ability to work nights/weekend, • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, • Must currently reside in the assigned territory Reports to: Chief Brand & Strategy Officer
