Role Overview As a Service Desk Technician, you will serve as the first point of contact for end-users, providing timely resolution of technical issues and ensuring smooth operations across various divisions. Your role is pivotal in maintaining high standards of customer service and supporting the organization’s mission to deliver reliable IT services. This position requires onsite presence in Albany, New York, with occasional travel less than 5% to remote client via NYC train. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, is detail-oriented, and possesses strong communication skills. Daily Tasks and Responsibilities • Respond promptly to user inquiries via phone, email, or ticketing system, troubleshooting issues with hardware, software, and network connectivity., • Install, configure, and maintain computer equipment, including setting up new devices and ensuring proper functionality., • Assist with basic hardware repairs and upgrades, including lifting and moving equipment up to 50 lbs., • Document all support interactions and resolutions accurately in the support tracking system., • Collaborate with IT team members to escalate complex issues and ensure timely resolution., • Maintain awareness of current technology trends and provide recommendations for improvements., • Support scheduled maintenance tasks and assist in inventory management. Required Skills • Proven experience in a service desk or help desk support role., • Strong knowledge of Windows and Mac operating systems., • Familiarity with common enterprise software and Microsoft Office Suite., • Excellent problem-solving and customer service skills., • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks related to hardware setup., • Strong verbal and written communication skills., • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. Nice to Have Skills • Experience with remote support tools and ticketing systems., • Basic knowledge of networking concepts and hardware troubleshooting., • Certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, or Microsoft Certified Fundamentals., • Prior experience supporting government or public sector clients. Preferred Education and Experience • Associate’s degree or higher in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field., • 1-3 years of relevant technical support experience in an enterprise environment., • Familiarity with data centers or server environments is a plus. Other Requirements • Must be able to work onsite in Albany, NY with minimal travel., • Ability to lift and handle equipment weighing up to 50 lbs., • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation preferred., • High integrity, professionalism, and a commitment to exceptional customer service.
