Job DescriptionJob Title: Tank Cleaner Job Description Perform cleaning and maintenance inside tanks and confined spaces using appropriate tools and safety procedures. Adhere to all OSHA and company safety protocols, including lockout/tagout and confined space entry procedures. Utilize personal protective equipment (PPE), such as respirators, harnesses, and protective suits, as required. Operate industrial cleaning equipment, including pressure washers, vacuums, and air movers. Responsibilities • Perform cleaning and maintenance inside tanks and confined spaces., • Follow all OSHA and company safety protocols, including lockout/tagout and confined space entry procedures., • Utilize PPE, including respirators, harnesses, and protective suits as required., • Operate industrial cleaning equipment such as pressure washers, vacuums, and air movers., • Use tools such as needle scalers, air grinders, air chisels, air drills, explosion-proof vacuums, explosion-proof lighting, electric drills (if rated safe), high-pressure water jetters, steam cleaners, ventilation blowers, and gas detectors., • Complete job documentation and communicate effectively with supervisors and team members.Essential Skills, • General labor skills, • Mechanical aptitude, • Proficiency with hand tools, • Troubleshooting abilities, • Experience in confined spaces, • Mechanical skills, • Experience with pressure washing, • Use of respirators, • Cleaning and repair skills, • Experience in a marine environmentAdditional Skills & Qualifications, • At least 1-2 years of tank cleaning/confined space work experience., • Valid Confined Space Entry Certification., • Additional certifications such as HAZWOPER, TWIC, or OSHA 10/30 are a plus., • Experience working on an AWS 4/10 schedule is helpful.Why Work Here? Work Environment This position involves working in marine industrial environments, including shipyards, docks, and vessels, where confined space entry is required. Work is performed in tight, enclosed spaces that may be dark, humid, and physically challenging, with exposure to marine chemicals, fuel residues, and cleaning agents. Conditions may include slippery surfaces, variable temperatures, and limited ventilation. Full PPE is required, including respirators, protective suits, gloves, and harnesses. Must be comfortable working in elevated or below-deck areas, sometimes in awkward positions. Work may be performed on an AWS 4/10 schedule, with occasional overtime or weekend shifts depending on project demands. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Compton, California. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $22.00/hr.
