With us, you’ll stay empowered to do your best work by creating astounding possibilities for local communities and beyond. \n Position Overview: \n Astound Broadband is currently searching for an outside Field Deployment Technician in the Seattle and the greater Puget Sound area (Bellevue, Everett, Tacoma, Olympia, Bremerton, Bellingham). This position is responsible for taking on troubleshooting, administration, installation and maintenance of the company’s and customer’s access infrastructure equipment, particularly in our wireless and towers division. \n The primary position responsibilities will include, but are not limited to: \n\n • Perform installations, troubleshoot and repair of Astound Broadband infrastructure including network connections from microwave and millimeter-wave radio headend to backbone equipment/hardware (interior and exterior)\n\n\n, • Part of a 24/7 on-call rotation\n, • Perform connects and disconnects, upgrades, downgrades, and relocates; install additional hand-offs and install or remove equipment\n\n\n, • Network Equipment Installation and Troubleshooting:\n\n, • Radio installation - microwave and millimeter-wave equipment.\n, • Routers and Switches\n, • Cable Placement -Terminations and Splicing - Optical fiber and copper\n, • Wi-Fi Equipment - indoor-outdoor\n\n, • Basic DC/AC installation, knowledge and best practices \n, • As-Builts and Documentation – Create build history/document and upload to the internal Wiki\n\n, • Perform Site Survey\n\n, • Required to work at heights installing telecom equipment/materials \n, • RF awareness preferred (will certify)\n, • Basic to Intermediate experience is required in the following areas:\n\n, • Physical, data-link and network protocols and architectures\n, • Routers\n, • Firewalls and switches\n, • System load balancing and redundant system architecture.\n\n, • Able to set up and or design simple to complex network involving wireless equipment, Cisco switches and routers\n, • Demonstrates ability to diagnose and solve problems\n, • Exhibits the ability to follow direction and possesses the ability to follow through\n, • Must enjoy the challenge of technical concepts and communicate those concepts at varying levels\n, • Basic experience with LAN and WAN Technology\n, • Ability to comply with all Company implemented safety procedures\n, • Knowledge of basic mathematics and electronics\n, • Vision ability: close vision, peripheral vision, and ability to adjust focus\n, • Strong attention to detail with excellent time management and organization skills\n, • Basic knowledge of DC components and best practices\n, • Basic understanding of the physical network layer, CAT 5e/6, 66 blocks, 110 blocks, patch panels, fiber optic cables, etc.\n, • Ability to work in fast-paced and dynamic environments with limited supervision\n, • Ability to work independently\n, • Ability to work while standing 50 - 70% of the time\n, • Ability to work with small components and wires to make cable connections\n, • Ability to make cable connections in tight spaces by bending, reaching, twisting\n, • Ability to differentiate between different sizes and colors of wires\n, • Ability to lift 50lbs repeatedly\n, • Must have the ability to communicate by telephone, correspondence, and in person\n, • Must possess a good command of the English language, including excellent enunciation, grammar and lack of slang\n, • Must possess a Valid driver's license and maintain a clean driving record\n\n \n We're Proud to Offer a Comprehensive Benefits Package Including: \n\n • 401k retirement plan, with employer match\n, • Insurance options including: medical, dental, vision, life and STD insurance\n, • Paid Time Off/Vacation: Starting at 80 hours per year, and increases based on tenure with the organization\n, • Floating Holiday: 40 hours per year\n, • Paid Holidays: 7 days per year\n, • Paid Sick Leave: Astound allows a number of paid sick hours per calendar year and varies based on state and/or local laws\n, • Tuition reimbursement program\n, • Field Deployment Technician I - $21.50-$26.00 per hour\n, • Field Deployment Technician II - $24.00 - $31.00 per hour\n\n \n Our Mission Statement: \n \n Diverse Workforce / EEO: \n Astound Broadband is proud to be an Equal Opportunity Employer.
