Job Description PARR is the single and total source for home building supplies, solutions, and services for professional home builders of large and mid-sized communities and single custom homes, and for motivated homeowners working on home improvement projects. Job title: General Manager Salary: Starting at $105k to $123k Depending on experience + Profit Sharing and Performance Bonus Schedule: Monday-Friday 7:00am to 4:00pm Location: Fife, Washington The General Manager is responsible for utilizing the company's FACE values, mission, and vision as guides to lead employees and meet the production facility's goals. This is accomplished through servant leadership and the effective management of manufacturing and assembly operations. This position implements manufacturing and operational strategies to achieve safety, quality, and efficiency targets. The General Manager is expected to be involved in the community, focus on self-development, and continuously strive for leadership excellence. This position directly reports to the VP of Operations of the division. The General Manager interacts daily with all production floor and support employees, corporate teams (including Fleet, Central Purchasing, Sales, HR, and IT), and may regularly engage with customers, vendors, and industry representatives. Qualifications • 3 years prior supervisory/management experience in manufacturing or assembly, • Knowledge of production workflows in door and millwork or truss manufacturing, • Familiarity with lean manufacturing, quality systems, and scheduling tools, • Ability to speak, write, and read English required, • Must be able to operate personal computer, smartphone, scanner, and any other equipment necessary for the job, • Must be able to type 30+ WPM, • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and ERP systems Leadership • Supervise and direct production teams in assembly, machining, and distribution, • Oversee daily shop operations, ensuring production schedules are met safely and efficiently, • Promote a continuous improvement mindset, using data and performance metrics to guide decisions, • Model servant leadership and solution-oriented problem-solving aligned with FACE values, • Collaborate cross-functionally with corporate departments, vendors, and internal stakeholders, • Set clear performance expectations for production and support staff, • Conduct or delegate timely performance evaluations, cross-training, and development planning, • Ensure all production and supervisory roles are adequately trained and certified, • Maintain a team environment focused on safety, productivity, and ownership, • Actively engage in coaching, mentoring, and recognizing high performers, • Support onboarding, new hire orientation, and ongoing skills training (including Parr University), • Oversee production cost control, labor planning, and plant financial performance, • Maintain appropriate raw material and finished goods inventory, collaborating with supply chain and purchasing, • Lead and document daily/weekly production meetings, tracking KPIs and safety metrics, • Manage quality assurance programs, ensuring standards are met or exceeded, • Proactively address slow-moving inventory, scrap reduction, and optimization of workflows, • Ensure OSHA, DOT, and fleet compliance in shipping/receiving and delivery operations, • Utilize company systems for inventory management, ERP, and labor reporting, • Support lean practices and standard work implementation throughout the facility, • Collaborate with sales, and scheduling teams to align order volume with capacity, • Enforce safety policies and lead by example in PPE, safe practices, and team accountability, • Maintain clean, organized, and hazard-free work areas, • Ensure the use of appropriate machine guards, lockout/tagout, and safety audits, • Conduct or oversee accident investigations and implement preventive actions, • Ensure monthly safety committee meetings are completed and documented, • Confirm that first-aid and AED certifications are maintained for key staff, • Communicate performance updates, production goals, and company initiatives to team members and leadership, • Respond promptly to customer and internal concerns with professionalism, • Foster a collaborative culture where suggestions and continuous improvement ideas are encouraged, • Serve as a conduit of information between plant teams and corporate functions, • Walk the plant regularly and engage staff directly to reinforce expectations and culture, • Consistently meet targets for productivity, labor cost per unit, scrap rates, and on-time delivery, • Achieve and maintain facility KPIs for throughput, quality, and customer satisfaction, • Complete monthly budget-to-actuals reporting and cost controls, • Maintain compliance with internal audits and documentation requirements, • Create action plans using employee feedback, survey data, and customer input, • Demonstrate strong employee retention through engagement and recognition, • Contribute to leadership meetings and support rollout of division-wide initiatives Physical Requirements • Ability to sit and/or stand for extended periods of time, • Ability to work indoors in a normal office environment for an entire day, • Must be able to grasp, talk, hear, and operate a computer and keyboard, • Must be able to lift/push/pull up to 50 pounds and carry objects 50 feet, • Everyone starts earning 2 weeks of vacation per year on day 1, and gains an additional day every year worked up to 4 weeks off, • Employee paid sick days, • 7 holidays, • Standard medical plan option with a very low $1,000 deductible, • Dental, Vision, EAP (Employee Assistance Program), • Massage, Chiropractic, and Acupuncture coverage, • FSA (Flexible Spending Account) and Childcare pretax spending programs, • Up to 50% match on the first 6% you contribute to your 401(k) after 1 year of employment and fully vested at the end of your 3rd year, • In addition to the 401(k) match, there a 3% profit share contribution to the 401(k), with Board approval, • Tuition reimbursement (up to $2,500/year), • Annual profit sharing (every full time employee who worked the full year earned a minimum of $525 for the 2024 year) We have a transparent pay structure, and love to promote from within.
