Job Description Facilities Supervisor Job Summary: Key Responsibilities The Facilities Supervisor supports daily facilities operations for a commercial vehicle manufacturing campus. This role is responsible for supervising building systems, coordinating preventive and corrective maintenance, managing vendors, and ensuring a safe, compliant, and reliable operating environment. The Supervisor partners closely with Maintenance, Production, EHS, and Engineering and supports capital projects as a site representative under the direction of senior leadership. Key Responsibilities • Facilities Operations & Maintenance • Supervise daily operation and upkeep of building systems, including HVAC, compressed air, process ventilation/make-up air, chilled water/heating, 480V/3-phase electrical distribution, plumbing, fire/life-safety systems, access control, and docks/yard infrastructure., • Administer the CMMS for facilities work orders, preventive maintenance (PM) schedules, parts/spares tracking, and service requests., • Coordinate PM and corrective maintenance activities to support production uptime and minimize unplanned outages., • Partner with Production and Maintenance teams on utility connections, equipment installs, and line moves., • Oversee site services such as janitorial, landscaping, waste/recycling, parking, and grounds., • Monitor condition and basic operation of industrial infrastructure (paint booths, ovens, wash bays, cranes/hoists) and escalate issues as needed. • Project Support & Site Coordination • Support facilities-related capital projects and construction activities as a site liaison., • Coordinate contractors, internal stakeholders, and schedules to ensure work is completed safely and with minimal operational disruption., • Track project progress, identify risks, and escalate issues to Facilities Management or Engineering leadership., • Assist with commissioning activities and transition of completed projects into routine operations. • Compliance, Safety & Environmental • Support compliance with OSHA/Cal-OSHA, ADA, fire/life-safety, and local building codes through inspections, documentation, and corrective actions., • Partner with EHS on safety programs, emergency response readiness, drills, LOTO, confined space, and contractor safety compliance., • Assist with facilities-related environmental programs, including stormwater controls, waste handling, and refrigerant management, under EHS guidance., • Ensure contractors follow site safety requirements, permits, and orientation procedures. • Vendor & Service Provider Oversight • Coordinate day-to-day activities of external service providers (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire systems, janitorial, landscaping, waste)., • Monitor service performance against scope, schedule, and SLAs; report issues and improvement opportunities., • Verify completion of work orders, review invoices for accuracy, and submit for approval. • Team & Cross-Functional Collaboration • Provide day-to-day supervision and work direction to facilities technicians or contractors, as applicable., • Communicate planned outages, maintenance activities, and facility issues to affected stakeholders., • Maintain clear coordination with Maintenance, EHS, Security, IT, and Engineering to ensure role clarity and effective handoffs., • Participate in daily/weekly operations meetings and support visual management of facilities KPIs. Qualifications: Required: • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Facilities Management, Construction Management, Mechanical/Electrical/Industrial Engineering, or equivalent hands-on experience., • 5–8 years of facilities or building maintenance experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment., • Prior experience supervising technicians, contractors, or service vendors., • Working knowledge of building systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire/life-safety) and basic code requirements., • Experience using CMMS systems for work orders and preventive maintenance tracking., • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills. Preferred: • Certifications such as CFM, FMP, or trade licenses., • Experience in manufacturing environments with high-mix or custom production. While we do not typically hire at the top of the salary range, initial offers are based on the candidate’s qualifications and experience, with opportunities for growth and increases over time. The hiring range for this position is $85,000 - $100,000 per year.
