Job DescriptionBenefits: • 401(k), • Dental insurance, • Health insurance, • Vision insurance Since 1985, we've been a family-run, direct-trade coffee roaster on a mission bigger than coffee: transforming lives. We believe everyone should win in every transaction, and we've built this company that way for four decades — through a beverage truck, a warehouse, a distribution network, and soon a retail storefront with our name on the glass. We're working to become an employee-owned and operated company that directly supports the coffee farming communities we buy from, because the same care that goes into every drink we make should reach the people who grow it. This is a seat at a table still small enough for your voice to matter, and ambitious enough that your effort has a real path toward becoming something you'll one day hold a piece of. Right now, a few of those seats are empty, and we're looking for someone who wants to fill one. We're looking for a driven, relationship-first Sales Representative to build the Java City footprint across California — with real potential to expand into the Western U.S. This is a "create your own territory" role. You'll open doors with churches, grocery stores, restaurants, bars, offices, health food stores, and police and fire stations — anywhere people gather and drink coffee, there's an opportunity, and it's yours to find. What You'll Actually Be Doing • You'll prospect and close new wholesale accounts across a wide range of channels — churches, grocery stores, restaurants, bars, offices, health food stores, and police and fire stations among them., • You'll build long-term relationships rooted in trust, not just transactions., • You'll represent a brand with 40 years of direct-trade roots and a mission that opens doors most reps have to earn cold., • You'll travel your territory, manage your own pipeline., • Part of keeping an account happy is a quick visual check on their water filtration and swapping a user-serviceable filter cartridge when it needs it — no plumbing, just the kind of attentiveness that makes a customer trust you with their equipment and their business., • You'll negotiate and close within Java City's approved pricing and terms, then log every account, order, and pipeline detail in our CRM., • You'll report sales activity, pipeline, and what you're hearing in the field directly to the CEO — not buried three layers down, but straight to the person steering the company., • You'll drive your own vehicle across the territory, with mileage reimbursed for every business mile you log. What You Bring • A self-starter who thrives on the hunt and the win., • Someone who connects easily with people from every walk of life — a church administrator one hour, a fire captain the next., • A team player who believes in collaboration over competition, because the whole company grows when the team does., • Coffee industry experience is a plus — heart and hustle matter more., • You live in the Greater Sacramento area now; this is your home base. Applied uniformly to all candidates., • A high school diploma or GED (or equivalent) gets you in the door; a year of B2B, wholesale, or field sales — ideally in food & beverage, CPG, or hospitality., • Valid California driver's license, a motor vehicle record we can work with, and your own insured vehicle ready for daily runs across California. Applied uniformly to all candidates., • Strong negotiation and relationship-building, the discipline to run your own schedule without someone checking in on you hourly, and the confidence to report your results straight to executive leadership., • You'll frequently carry product samples and marketing materials up to 25 lbs., and you'll spend your day on your feet — walking the floor, working the counter, and engaging face-to-face with every account you visit., • Your schedule is largely self-directed to fit account availability, which means early mornings, evenings, and the occasional weekend when that's when the account can see you.

Job DescriptionJava City — Beverage MixologistLocation: Sacramento, Roseville, Placer County, and Granite Bay event sites Reports to: Events Manager Employment type: Hourly, non-supervisory Classification: Non-exempt Pay range: $23.00–$25.00 per hour based on experience. About Java City Since 1985, we've been a family-run, direct-trade coffee roaster on a mission bigger than coffee: transforming lives. The Role The Beverage Mixologist is the face of Java City at every event our truck rolls up to — farmers markets, corporate campuses, festivals, and private bookings across Sacramento, Roseville, Placer County, and Granite Bay. You'll build espresso drinks, seasonal specialty beverages, and cold-brew creations from scratch, and represent a brand that's spent forty years insisting that quality and integrity aren't in tension. You'll work a compact, high-tempo mobile kitchen where consistency, cleanliness, and speed all matter equally. This role reports to the Events Manager and carries no supervisory responsibility — your focus stays on the trailer, not on managing a team. What You'll Do • Prepare espresso-based and specialty beverages to Java City recipe and quality standards, including calibration of grind, dose, and extraction across changing conditions• Take customer orders at the truck window, accurately relaying drink customizations and managing line flow during peak rushes• Operate and maintain truck equipment — espresso machines, grinders, blenders, and refrigeration — performing opening and closing procedures per Java City's Opening and Closing SOP• Follow food safety protocols, including safe food handling, temperature control, and sanitation logs• Maintain a valid California Food Handler Card • Manage par-level supply tracking and pre-shift inventory checks using the truck's event scheduling and supply tools• Set up and break down the truck at event sites, including pre-site inspection steps• Handle POS transactions, cash reconciliation, and daily sales reporting accurately• Deliver hospitality that reflects Java City's relationship with its farming partners — every cup is a chance to make that story visible to a customer• Represent the brand professionally at public-facing events, including interaction with event organizers and repeat B2B clients Schedule This role works the Java City events calendar, which runs on customer demand rather than a fixed Monday-through-Friday week. Shifts may fall on weekdays, weekends, and holidays, and availability across all three is a genuine requirement of the job, not a preference. What You Bring • Prior barista or bartending experience preferred; we'll train the right person on technique, but comfort under pressure in a fast-paced service environment is not optional• Current California Food Handler Card, or ability to obtain one upon employment• Comfort working in a compact mobile environment with variable weather, standing for extended periods, and occasional lifting• Full availability across weekdays, weekends, and holidays, consistent with the events calendar• Basic math and cash-handling accuracy• Genuine interest in coffee sourcing and a willingness to talk about it — customers ask, and we want them to get a real answer
