Job DescriptionDescription: Master Plumber – Modern Mechanical Services Modern Mechanical Services is expanding. We are a fast-growing commercial HVAC/R contractor operating across Texas, and we’re now building out a Plumbing Division to support our multi-site commercial clients. We are looking for an experienced Master Plumber who is ready to take ownership, lead from the field, and grow into a leadership or office-based role as the division scales. What You’ll Do • Perform commercial plumbing service, repairs, and installations across our Dallas-Fort Worth market., • Lead onsite troubleshooting, diagnostics, and code-compliant repairs., • Help design and implement the foundation of Modern’s plumbing division, including workflow, standards, and best practices., • Provide guidance and mentorship to future licensed plumbers and apprentices as the team grows., • Work with leadership to build service offerings, pricing structures, and operational processes., • Oversee permitting, inspections, and code compliance for all plumbing-related work., • Coordinate with our HVAC/R teams on multi-trade projects and commercial buildouts., • Maintain accurate job documentation using our service software platform. What We Provide • Competitive compensation aligned with experience, leadership ability, and the opportunity to grow with a new division., • A comprehensive benefits package, including company-paid health insurance options, dental, vision, and additional supplemental coverages., • A company truck, fuel card, uniforms, PPE, and the major tools needed to perform high-quality, safe work every day., • Modern technology and service software (ServiceTrade) to simplify documentation, improve communication, and support efficient job management., • Dedicated internal support including dispatch, operations, project management, and accounting—so you can focus on the work, not the paperwork., • A unique chance to help build and lead Modern’s plumbing division, with real influence over processes, pricing, workflows, and long-term strategy., • Ongoing training and development to advance licensing, technical skills, and leadership capabilities., • A strong, team-focused culture where technicians are respected, supported, and trusted., • Reliable, consistent work across DFW, Austin, San Antonio, and Houston, powered by a rapidly expanding multi-site customer base.Requirements: Education and Experience • Valid Texas Master Plumber License (required)., • At least 5 years of commercial plumbing service and installation experience preferred., • Experience with commercial fixtures, water heaters, gas systems, pumps, pipefitting, underground, and code-compliant repairs., • Ability to interpret plumbing construction plans, specifications, and schematics for proper installation and repair., • Strong understanding of Texas plumbing codes, permitting, inspections, and safety requirements., • Experience mentoring or leading apprentices or technicians is a plus., • Interested in helping build and lead a new plumbing division—not just joining one., • Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting ability with commercial plumbing systems., • Proficient with hand tools, power tools, test gauges, and measurement devices used in plumbing service., • Ability to maintain detailed and accurate electronic documentation of work performed, materials used, and labor hours., • Clear and professional communication skills with customers and internal teams., • Self-driven, detail-oriented, and able to work independently with minimal supervision., • Texas Master Plumber License (required)., • Valid Driver’s License with a clean driving record., • Ability to pass pre-employment drug screening and background check. Physical Requirements: • Prolonged periods of walking, standing, bending, stretching, pushing, pulling, climbing ladders, or kneeling, lift/carry up to 50 lbs., • Must be able to traverse and inspect all areas of jobsite in all types of weather both indoors and outdoors: this may include walking, climbing, reaching, bending, crawling, or stretching., • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
