To learn more visit: drpraegers.comPosition Overview: The Operations Processing Supervisor is responsible for overseeing and coordinating the daily operations of both the processing process and staff. This role entails ensuring the efficient attainment of production targets while upholding the highest standards of quality, food safety, and overall safety throughout the processing department. This position demands strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills, along with technical expertise. Additionally, you must excel in multitasking within a fast-paced environment and possess the capability to drive continuous improvement in manufacturing processes. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: \tSupervise and organize manufacturing activities, oversee resource allocation and workflow management to achieve production targets in alignment with plant policies, with a concentrated focus on safety and quality. \tProvide continuous leadership, train, mentor and develop production team members to enhance their skills and performance levels. \tActively promote plant safety and adherence to Quality, Sanitation, GMP, and HACCP standards. \tTroubleshoot equipment malfunctions and coordinate maintenance activities to minimize downtime and optimize production efficiency. \tEnforce optimal practices for inventory management, material handling, and waste reduction to enhance operational efficiency and cost-effectiveness. \tCollaborate with cross-functional teams, such as warehouse, quality assurance, research and development, and supply chain, to address production challenges and introduce enhancements to processes. \tEvaluate production data and performance metrics to pinpoint trends, root causes of inefficiencies, and possibilities for enhancing process efficiency. \tFoster a culture of continuous improvement by promoting employee engagement in problem-solving and encouraging suggestions for process enhancements. \tCoordinate and supervise pre-production activities and equipment set-up. \tApply disciplinary actions as per plant policies and procedures. \tReview shift activities, adjusting for continuous improvement. \tKeep management informed of production status and promptly address any issues. \tSet daily/weekly/monthly objectives and communicate them to employees and work together to achieve them. \tOrganize workflow by assigning responsibilities and preparing schedules. \tCheck production output according to specifications. \tSubmit reports on performance and progress. \tConduct regular inspections and audits to identify areas for improvement and ensure adherence to quality, safety, and environmental standards. \tPerform additional duties as assigned. Supervisory Responsibilities: This position directly supervises 16 or more production personnel. Skills/Proficiencies:\tMentoring and leadership. \tMaintain high expectations for self and others, demonstrating dedication to achieving results. \tAnalyze data and information, making effective and timely decisions. \tUtilize innovative approaches to problem-solving. \tWork well under pressure with a strong sense of urgency. \tSolid problem-solving, multi-tasking, and prioritization skills. \tDetail-oriented, organized, reliable, and resourceful. \tEffectively work independently and within a team environment. Experience: \tMinimum of 2 years of Processing/manufacturing supervisory experience, preferred. \tExperience with processing equipment such as dicers, grinders, mixers, patty formers, fryers, oil filters, and freezers. \tExperience in sanitation, processing/food products. \tExperience working with a diverse group of people. \tBilingual in Spanish is a plus. \tComfort with computer use for MS programs and Business programs.
