Job Description Job Title: Production Operator Job Description The Production Operator plays a vital role in the manufacturing and packaging of products used in industrial, agricultural, and consumer applications. You will operate production equipment, monitor product quality, and help maintain a safe and efficient work environment. Responsibilities • Operate, monitor, and adjust production machinery such as dryers, mills, conveyors, bagging lines, palletizers, and filler machines., • Load raw materials, including clay, additives, and packaging materials, into equipment as required to support continuous production., • Ensure a continuous flow of product through the production process by monitoring equipment performance and material levels., • Perform routine equipment checks to identify irregularities or potential issues and promptly report mechanical problems to maintenance., • Inspect products for proper size, moisture content, weight, and packaging accuracy throughout the production run., • Conduct basic quality tests and accurately document results in accordance with company standards and procedures., • Remove defective products from the production line and notify supervisors of recurring quality issues or process deviations., • Follow established safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized work area to support safe and efficient operations., • Assist with general labor tasks related to production, such as staging materials, clearing jams, and supporting changeovers. Essential Skills • Experience operating production machinery such as dryers, mills, conveyors, bagging lines, palletizers, and filler machines., • Ability to perform general labor tasks in a manufacturing or industrial environment., • Skill in loading raw materials and packaging components into production equipment safely and efficiently., • Capability to monitor equipment and product flow and make basic adjustments to maintain steady production., • Attention to detail when inspecting product size, moisture content, weight, and packaging accuracy., • Ability to conduct basic quality tests and accurately document results., • Awareness of safety practices in an industrial or manufacturing setting and commitment to working safely., • Reliability and consistency in following procedures and completing assigned tasks in a fast-paced environment. Additional Skills & Qualifications • Prior experience as a production operator, machine operator, or in a similar manufacturing role., • Comfort working with filler machines and other automated packaging equipment., • Basic mechanical aptitude to recognize equipment issues and communicate them clearly to maintenance or supervisors., • Ability to work effectively as part of a production team and follow instructions from supervisors., • Willingness to perform physically active work, including standing, lifting, and moving materials throughout the shift. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Bakersfield, CA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $20.00/hr.
