Job Type: Full-time Pay: $135,000.00 - $145,000.00 per year Benefits: • 401(k), • Dental insurance, • Health insurance, • Paid time off, • 8 hour shift, • Day shift, • Holidays, • Monday to Friday, • Bonus pay Job Summary: This senior management position is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the Community. The Executive Director coordinates, plans, implements, monitors, directs, and evaluates all aspects of operations, including the supervision, support, and coaching of associates. Essential functions included meeting financial expectations, maintaining high customer satisfaction, and ensuring a quality customer-oriented workforce. Job Duties: • Support the mission, vision, and culture of the organization through positive communication and leadership., • Contribute to Community relationships by demonstrating cooperation and professional conduct with residents, families, fellow associates, physicians, pharmacies and other vendors or persons., • Contribute to team effort by being flexible in work assignments; by furnishing, • Able to maintain work pace appropriate to given work load. Perform activities on, • Supervise Community staff, provide training, set and adjust rates of pay and, • Plan, develop, organize, implement, evaluate and direct the Community’s, • Perform conflict interventions and resolutions for residents, families, staff, and third parties., • Comply with all aspects of operations, including personnel practices, in, • Interpret the Community’s policies and procedures to employees/associates,, • Strategize regarding labor, occupancy mix, expenses, and quality of services, and review and redirect activity, if necessary., • Hire, orient, supervise, evaluate, review, and discipline subordinate staff, as required. Interview and test job applicants., • Oversee development and implementation of all strategies and tactics at the Community level consistent with Carefield Senior Living’ objectives., • Identify and monitor customer markets regularly and analyze competition., • Develop operational budgets and capital requirements, including forecasting., • Develop and implement new business strategies and/or initiatives., • Promptly respond to all inquiries from subordinate and/or corporate staff, families, and residents., • Positively impact workers’ compensation and unemployment losses., • Represent Community, area, Carefield Senior Living, and self in a positive professional manner., • Organize tasks and procure resources to perform assigned tasks., • Implement and support the management performance system., • Improve skills, with special emphasis on industry techniques, to improve the operation of the Community., • Plan and/or oversee presentations for meetings., • Evaluate and make recommendations for all aspects of building construction and preventative maintenance., • Maintain state-specific residents’ Bill of Rights., • Oversee the Carefield Senior Living resident assessment process to ensure that adequate staffing is provided to meet resident needs, Carefield Senior Living’ standards, state requirements, and fall within budgetary guidelines., • Provide performance evaluations and wage reviews., • Ensure that annual evaluation processes are in place and providing direction to all associates in Community., • Contribute to the industry by participating in state or national associations., • Oversee and participate in training and education of resident care staff on an ongoing basis, including classroom in services and situation specific training, • Motivate employees through staff appreciation, recognition, and incentive programs; consistently promote positive Staff relations and resolves grievances in a proactive manner., • Maintain and facilitate open lines of communication between corporate and local offices., • Oversee and ensure the recruitment and retention of qualified staff throughout the Community, as evidenced by good morale, enthusiasm, team spirit, and dedication to the residence staff., • Monitor and approve expenses on a regular basis and prepare monthly variance reports., • Maintain outreach and education with the local community to ensure positive relationships with community resources., • Participate in New Hire Orientation program and other regular Staff meetings or functions., • Work to resolve or properly refer to the manager any issues identified by residents and/or their family members., • Conduct tours., • Ensure campus buildings and grounds are maintained in good repair, clean, free of trash and litter. Added Responsibilities: • Respond appropriately to changes in the work setting., • Be familiar with Carefield Senior Living Policies & Procedures Manual and Carefield Senior Living Staff Handbook., • Perform other related assignments as required., • Possess ability and willingness to work in any open position as necessary., • Assure that there is one or more functioning carbon monoxide detectors in the facility that meet specified standards., • Act on constructive feedback by listening to supervisor(s), customers and peers and use it to improve performance., • Maintain resident, employee, and community confidentiality., • Respect Resident’s Rights., • Demonstrate positive attitude and ability to work well with all people, particularly the elderly., • Promote positive work environment that emphasizes teamwork., • Demonstrate willingness to help other staff whenever needed., • Project and meet budgeting and occupancy requirements., • Shall work with Carefield to procure and maintain liability insurance covering injury to residents and guests, caused by the negligent acts or omissions to act of, or neglect by, the licensee or employee, in an amount of at least $ 1 Million per occurrence and $3 Million in the annual aggregate. A certificate of said insurance shall be maintained at the Community., • Shall increase and maintain Administrator/Executive Director training per AB 1570 and SB 911. Executive Director and employees under Executive Director shall not discriminate or retaliate against a resident, employee/Staff, or other person for contacting 911. Executive Director shall ensure that care to residents with prohibited or restricted health conditions is provided by specified professionals under specified conditions., • A Bachelors degree from a four-year college or university, with emphasis in Business Administration, Personnel Administration, Gerontology, or related fields dealing with service to the elderly is recommended., • Operations experience specific to retirement housing, assisted living, long- term care or related fields and experience operating and maintaining a quality, customer-oriented workforce is recommended., • Possess strong human relations skills and experience with the ability to communicate with diverse levels of employees., • Competent working knowledge of Microsoft Office, along with basic typing skills is essential., • Licensure as an administrator in states requiring such licensure and must, • Possession of a valid and current driver’s license., • May be required to hold valid First Aid Certification., • Possess ability to gain trust, communicate both written and verbally, listen, problem-solve, organize, plan, and supervise., • Maintain a positive attitude toward the ill, disabled, and elderly., • Must be willing to travel, including air travel., • Maintain the confidentiality of all resident care information., • Assure and maintain the residents’ rights to fair and equitable treatment, self-determination, individuality, privacy, property and civil rights, including the right to wage complaints, are well established at all times., • Advise and provide a copy to the resident as part of the resident admissions process (and as needed or requested by resident or family member or interested party) the Resident’s Bill of Rights and the personal rights in Title 22 regulations. Must have each resident and the resident’s representative sign and date a copy of the resident’s rights and the licensee must include a signed and dated copy in the resident’s record. The licensee must post a copy of the resident’s rights in the Community and must also post these rights in other languages when five percent (5%) or more of the residents can only read that other language., • Post the text of Health and Safety Code section 1569.157 with a heading “Rights of Resident Councils” in a prominent place in the facility accessible to residents, family members, and resident representatives., • Review resident complaints and grievances and make written reports of action taken., • Assist in establishing and implementing a Resident Council. If requested, assist in establishing and implementing a Family Council., • Assure that policies governing a timely notice for resident discharges and room or roommate changes are strictly followed by all Staff/ employees., • Maintain mental alertness, attention, and concentration for necessary periods., • Apply common sense understanding and carry out instructions (written, oral or diagrammatic)., • Adapt to situations requiring the precise attainment of set limits, tolerances, or standards., • Regularly required to walk, sit and talk or listen., • Able to stand, stoop and bend frequently, lift up to 20 pounds and push up to 40 pounds. Also must have the ability to talk, hear, sit, use hands and fingers, handle/feel objects, tools or controls, and reach with hands and arms., • Specific vision requirements for this job include close vision, depth perception,, • Possess adequate physical stamina to move freely about the Community and assist residents where needed, including in emergency situations., • Must be willing and able to work required and scheduled shifts, including evenings, weekends, overtime and holidays.
