Project Manager – Healthcare (HCAI) Location: Salinas / Monterey Area, California (Primary offices located in the Bay Area; this role is project-based in the Salinas/Monterey region) Company Overview This opportunity is with a long-established, self-performing general contractor with deep roots in the Bay Area. Project Manager Position Summary The Project Manager (PM) is responsible for the successful delivery of complex construction projects, particularly within healthcare environments. Serving as the central leader for the project team, the PM drives planning, execution, risk management, and stakeholder coordination to ensure projects are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and in alignment with company values. This role requires strong leadership, strategic thinking, and the ability to manage multiple moving parts across all phases of construction. Duties and Responsibilities Project Execution & Leadership • Lead tactical project execution, including defining project approach, milestones, and deliverables., • Direct, motivate, and coordinate internal teams and trade partners to achieve project goals related to schedule, budget, quality, and safety., • Manage administrative and contractual obligations, including owner contracts, subcontracts, and purchase orders., • Develop and manage project budgets, cost controls, change management processes, manpower planning, and financial forecasting., • Oversee master scheduling in collaboration with the project superintendent and trade partners., • Manage project risk and ensure adherence to contractual requirements, including notice provisions., • Promote job site safety and enforce safe work practices; complete all required company safety training., • Build and maintain strong relationships with project stakeholders and provide timely communication on project issues and resolutions., • Support business development efforts by building and maintaining strategic client and partner relationships., • Participate in project pursuits, including proposal strategy, estimating support, presentations, interviews, and preconstruction services., • Strong passion for construction and building excellence., • Strategic thinker and collaborative team player., • Thrives in an entrepreneurial, fast-paced environment., • Excellent communication, organization, and leadership skills., • Proactive problem-solver who works collaboratively across teams., • Minimum of 5 years of relevant project management experience across all phases of construction, with healthcare experience preferred., • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related field., • Strong organizational skills with a systematic approach to achieving results., • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to manage diverse personalities and teams., • Experience or familiarity with healthcare compliance, sustainability, and environmental programs is a plus., • Working knowledge of construction and project management software such as Procore, PlanGrid, Bluebeam, Revit, SketchUp, AutoCAD, Primavera, Navisworks, Microsoft Project, and Viewpoint preferred.
