Overview: As the strategic heartbeat of the Division, the Director of Operations drives excellence across all project operations. Leading a powerhouse team of Project Managers, Construction Managers, and Superintendents, this role orchestrates the seamless execution of multiple high-impact initiatives. With full profit and loss accountability, the Director ensures every project delivers on performance, budget, and quality. Location & Travel Details: You can be based in any city or state in the U.S.. This is a traveling, project based position, up to 75% of the time. You have the potential to be placed on a project site located in any state throughout the US. You’ll spend 8-18 months on average per project. We offer designated per diem in addition to an excellent base salary to support and help you cover living expenses. This position is eligible for mobilization support (may include mileage reimbursement), and includes one longer weekend every four weeks for additional time at home. A company vehicle and fuel card OR vehicle allowance will be provided. Responsibilities: • General:, • Develop operations plan and direct overall activities to assist in achieving total project objectives. Represent Company in external project meetings., • Human Resources:, • Enforces compliance of project personnel with administrative policies, procedures, safety rules, and governmental regulations., • Trains and develops subordinate personnel and approves personnel actions and pay changes for assigned area., • Represent Company in project meetings; assists in labor negotiations/strategy meetings, etc., • Safety:, • Through Project Managers, and on-site Construction Managers/Superintendents insure all employees and subcontractors adhere to project, corporate, and client safety processes and policies., • Quality:, • Through Project Managers, and on-site Construction Managers/Superintendents insure all employees and subcontractors adhere to project, corporate, and client quality processes and policies., • Preconstruction:, • In the Preconstruction phase generally receives the Invitation to Bid/Request for Proposal (RFP), reviews the Bid/Contract documents, participates in the Bid Adjudication meeting with Go/No-Go decision., • Supports proposal development efforts to adhere to customer RFP requirements along with providing content to position the company with the best chance of winning the project., • Supports business unit estimate development with a focus on risks/opportunities and utilizing previous customer hot buttons to give the company the best chance of award., • In the Pre-Planning phase reviews/approves the project schedule/budgets and facilitates the handover process to Project/Construction Management., • Execution:, • Monitors/controls the execution phase through administrative direction of Project Managers and on-site Construction Managers/Superintendents to ensure project adheres to schedule and budget; monitor overall safety, quality, and productivity of work performed by the division/business unit operation, investigating potentially serious situations and implementing corrective measures., • Other:, • Assume additional responsibilities as directed by Division/Business Unit Director., • Assume additional responsibilities as required by the division/business unit operating needs or as directed by corporate dictate., • Manage, lead direct reports, and mentor. SUPERVISORY: • A four-year construction, engineering or related degree or equivalent combinations of technical training and/or experience, plus extensive (ten or more years) experience/knowledge of construction, design, finance and management required., • Prior experience in mining construction is essential, with a deep understanding of the industry's unique challenges, safety standards, and production workflows., • Experience working for General Contracting company/Construction Management firm with mid-to-large scale projects of a complex nature.
