American Traveler is seeking a travel nurse RN ED - Emergency Department Med Surg for a travel nursing job in Atlanta, Georgia. Job Description & Requirements • Specialty: ED - Emergency Department, • Discipline: RN, • Start Date: 05/18/2026, • Duration: 8 weeks, • 36 hours per week, • Shift: 12 hours, nights, • Employment Type: Travel Assignment Overview • Shift: Nights, 3x12hrs, • Hours: 36 hrs/wk, • Start Date: May 18, 2026, • Length: 8 weeks, • High-acuity, inner-city Level 1 trauma center with a very high-volume ED, • Float pool ED position primarily assigned to border patients, who may include med/surg, stepdown, or ICU-level patients, • Floating to other acute units may occasionally be required, • 12-hour night shifts, 3 shifts per week, • Block scheduling is generally not approved, • Travelers are expected to work 4 weekend shifts per month, • No on-call requirementsRequirements, • Active RN license — GA license or Compact RN license required, • Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and TNCC, • Minimum 2 years of ED experience in a similarly sized Level 1 trauma facility, • Proven experience managing critical, fast-paced, high-volume trauma cases with diverse and severe patient presentations, • ED-specific skills checklist required for consideration, • Resume with no unexplained employment gaps required for considerationAdditional Information, • Primarily responsible for caring for boarded ED patients across multiple acuity levels, including med/surg, stepdown, and ICU, • The facility is a high-acuity, complex inner-city trauma center — candidates with experience limited to small or low-volume hospitals are unlikely to be a fit for this role, • Local candidates are accepted for this position With thousands of travel nursing and allied jobs nationwide, our attentive and approachable recruiters find positions that align perfectly with your career aspirations and personal requirements.
