About the Role Providence St. Joseph Medical Group is seeking an experienced Clinical Research Manager to lead the clinical research finance and operations function. This is a senior leadership role overseeing contracts, budgets, compliance, CTMS, and a multidisciplinary finance team supporting sponsored and investigator-initiated clinical trials. You’ll work closely with executive leadership, investigators, sponsors, and regulatory bodies to ensure compliant, efficient, and financially sound research operations. Key Responsibilities • Lead day-to-day operations of the clinical research finance team, • Oversee hiring, performance management, career development, and HR functions, • Develop and implement research contracting and budgeting standards, • Lead negotiation of clinical trial contracts and internal budgets in compliance with Medicare and Stark Law, • Direct post-award financial management including invoicing, accruals, payments, and reporting, • Manage month-end accounting, QA review, and financial accuracy, • Lead development and implementation of CTMS aligned with protocols, contracts, and workflows, • Ensure compliance with FDA, GCP, ICH, HIPAA, and all federal, state, and local research regulations, • Partner with Legal Affairs on clinical trial agreements, • Develop SOPs, QA processes, and quality improvement initiatives, • Drive operational efficiency, revenue growth, and faster study timelines, • Serve as a key liaison between leadership, investigators, sponsors, and external research partners Required Qualifications • Bachelor’s degree required | Master’s preferred, • ACRP, SOCRA, or other Clinical Research Certification required, • 7+ years of clinical research experience, • 5+ years managing or supervising clinical trials, • 5+ years of clinical research finance experience, • Strong experience with FDA, GCP, ICH, and human research regulations, • Proven experience working with pharmaceutical sponsors and FDA representatives, • Deep understanding of clinical trial budgeting, contracting, and Medicare research billing Skills & Expertise • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint, • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and contract law related to clinical trials, • Experience with CTMS, grant management, and accounting platforms, • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and self-directed, • Excellent communication and leadership skills, • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment, • Strong stakeholder management across physicians, leadership, sponsors, and staff
