Job DescriptionSalary: Position Overview The Director of Brand, Merchandising & Licensing is a cross-functional role responsible for leading the development, monetization, and expansion of Mythics original intellectual properties, large-scale live and digital events, and branded merchandise initiatives. This role combines creative vision with operational excellence, ensuring our proprietary brands and community-facing experiences drive both cultural impact and commercial success. This role will own the roadmap and execution for projects like the VTuber Awards, Mythics Beyond the Vale webcomic IP, seasonal merchandise drops, and branded live experiences. Youll collaborate across departmentsincluding Talent, Sales, Campaigns, Marketing, and Operationsto bring IP, events, and merchandise to life in ways that reinforce Mythics reputation as a world-class agency. Key Responsibilities IP Development & Management • Drive strategy for developing original content universes, creator-driven IP, and narrative brand assets (e.g., lore, characters, animation/webtoons, etc.), • Collaborate with talent managers, creators, and internal stakeholders to co-develop sustainable and ownable brands, • Oversee creative briefs, art direction, worldbuilding, and continuity for owned IP, • Protect and manage Mythics IP portfolio, including trademark registration, licensing, and legal usage guidelines Merchandising & Consumer Products • Develop seasonal and campaign-specific merchandise lines for talents, events, and IP, • Work with external vendors and designers to bring merchandise to life (print-on-demand, limited runs, custom drops, etc.), • Analyze performance metrics to optimize inventory, pricing, and product-market fit, • Ensure merchandise is high quality, aligned with brand tone, and supports talent growth and brand identity Event Planning & Execution • Lead planning and execution of Mythic-owned events, including the VTuber Awards, digital showcases, branded fan activations, and livestream productions, • Manage event production budgets, timelines, logistics, vendor relationships, and cross-functional coordination, • Ensure events align with brand values, talent goals, and industry relevance while driving ROI and audience engagement, • Other duties as assigned to support the success of the team and organization. Qualifications • 3+ years of experience in IP development, brand management, merchandising, or experiential marketing (ideally within entertainment, games, or digital media), • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage large projects from concept to delivery, • Experience working with creators, artists, or influencers on co-branded or original IP projects, • Strong operational and budgeting skills, with a creative flair and an eye for design, • Proven success executing high-visibility events and campaigns under tight timelines, • Familiarity with trademark law, licensing, and brand protection (preferred but not required) Expectations • Able to manage multiple high-stakes initiatives simultaneously with minimal oversight, • Willingness to work non-traditional hours as needed (events, campaigns, etc.), • Proactive communicator and strategic thinker, • Passion for gaming, streaming culture, and creator-led communities, • Collaborative, humble, and committed to pushing boundaries Compensation • Competitive base salary (commensurate with experience), • Bonus structure based on key milestone delivery and performance, • Health, dental, and vision insurance, • Competitive PTO policy and national holidays off, • Merch stipend & travel perks for major events, • Equity opportunities available for long-term leadership Note: This is a remote position.
