American Traveler is seeking a travel nurse RN Labor and Delivery for a travel nursing job in Long Beach, California. • Specialty: Labor and Delivery, • Discipline: RN, • Start Date: 11/10/2025, • Duration: 13 weeks, • 36 hours per week, • Shift: 12 hours, days, • Employment Type: Travel American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Mother/Baby (L&D/Postpartum) position in an acute care setting with Cerner experience and advanced maternal certifications required. • Work in the Mother/Baby, Labor & Delivery, and Postpartum units of an acute care hospital, • Units include 8 L&D beds (plus 6 overflow), 7 L&D triage beds, and 40 Postpartum/GYN beds, • Patient population includes standard labor, high-risk pregnancies, multiples, vacuum deliveries, and VBACs, • Cares for approximately 1800-2000 births per year, • RN to patient ratios: L&D 1:2 labor, 1:1 delivery, 1:3 triage; Mother/Baby/Postpartum 1:4 couplets, • Required to circulate C-sections with OB tech support available, • Cerner is the charting system used; experience is required, • 12-hour day shifts (6:30a–7:00p), every other weekend required, • First to float to Postpartum, float within Maternal Child units, • No call required, but opportunity to pick up is available, • Scrub color: L&D – provided, Mother/Baby & PP – navy, • Holiday coverage rotates with core staff, • Floor-specific orientation includes 1-2 shifts with a preceptor, • Responsibilities include labor care, delivery, postpartum recovery, C-section circulation, and maternal/fetal monitoring, • OB and Neonatologist in-house 24/7, with anesthesia coverage, • OB techs support L&D and C-section cases, • Potential to work with telemetry monitoring for mothers, though not responsible for strips, • Baby-friendly environment and multidisciplinary team support with LD RN, NICU RN, and RT attending C-sections, • No dedicated IV team; respiratory therapy and pharmacy available 24/7, • Staff may not have been directly employed by CommonSpirit, CHI, or Dignity facilities within the past year, • First-time travelers will be considered, • Active CA RN license required at time of consideration; pending licenses not accepted, • Minimum 2 years of recent Labor & Delivery and Mother/Baby nursing experience, • Current certifications required: BLS (AHA), ACLS (AHA), NRP, AWHONN Advanced Fetal Monitoring, • C-section circulation experience required, • Experience using Cerner EMR required, • Two professional references: one supervisor from within the last 12 months, and one peer or supervisor from the last 3 years, • Must provide a valid driver’s license, • High Pay and Bonuses, • Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options, • 401(k) Plan, • Weekly Payroll Deposit, • Free Online CEUs, • Generous Housing Allowance, • Travel and Licensure Reimbursements, • Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy, • Traveler Rewards and Discounts American Traveler Job ID #P-617627.
