Job Description The Cleanroom Production Operator supports daily production and packaging activities in a regulated cleanroom environment, following Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and standard operating procedures (SOPs). This role focuses on meeting production goals, maintaining high quality standards, and ensuring accurate documentation to support the timely release of products and prevent back orders. Responsibilities • Perform in-process quality checks on sub-assemblies and finished products to ensure they meet defined quality standards., • Troubleshoot line issues and other production problems and promptly notify the Team Leader or appropriate personnel of required corrective actions., • Perform daily production and packaging activities in accordance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and all related standard operating procedures (SOPs)., • Identify technical problems related to raw materials and finished products and support appropriate corrective actions., • Follow cleanroom protocols and manufacturing procedures to support coagulation-based manufacturing processes., • Operate production machinery and equipment safely and efficiently while adhering to all quality and safety guidelines., • At least two (2) years of previous assembly or packaging experience in a manufacturing environment., • Previous experience in a regulated medical device manufacturing or pharmaceutical environment is strongly preferred., • Hands-on experience working in a cleanroom or other controlled production environment., • Solid understanding of standard operating procedures (SOPs), including what they are, why they are used, and how to follow them in a manufacturing setting., • Ability to clearly explain how SOPs were used in prior roles to achieve production and quality goals., • Understanding of Good Documentation Practices (GDP) and the ability to describe how to follow them in day-to-day work., • Familiarity with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Good Laboratory Practices (GLP), FDA, and ISO requirements., • Experience with machine operation, including safe and efficient operation of production equipment., • Background in quality assurance, inspection, and in-process quality checks., • Experience with packaging operations in a manufacturing environment., • Basic computer operation skills, including data entry and navigation in production or inventory systems., • Ability to quickly comprehend coagulation-based manufacturing processes., • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in both production tasks and documentation. Work Environment This role is based in a cleanroom manufacturing environment with defined shift options, including one opening on first shift from 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. and multiple openings on second shift from 1:30 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. The work involves operating production machinery, working with computers, and using systems such as MRP and ERP (potentially including SAP) to manage inventory and documentation. The production area can be loud at times, and hearing protection, such as ear plugs or other ear protection, is provided. For safety and contamination control, there are specific dress code requirements: leggings are not permitted and pants must be worn; no makeup or lipstick is allowed; necklaces must be tucked into shirts; and if glasses are worn, side shields are required. Headphones and cell phone use are not allowed on the manufacturing floor. After an initial training period of approximately six weeks, overtime may be required, with some overtime being voluntary and some mandatory, typically communicated one to two weeks in advance. Flexibility to work overtime, including occasional Saturdays, is important, as missing team members can create bottlenecks in the production process. The environment is structured, safety-focused, and process-driven, with clear expectations around reliability, adherence to procedures, and proper completion and closure of work orders. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of San Diego, CA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $20.90/hr.
